I remember last year Keeler and Lenny Guyton had their mods under the grandstands before the races last year. They should have an autograph session before the races. Have a family night where it is cheaper to get in. Many tracks do this and it could help out a lot. Have some nights where you get buy one get one free food. Fremont does this and it helps out the cost. Frisbees, photos, and shirts. A few drivers did that on their own last year, lets have everyone do it. Interviews before and after the races. There are no interviews whatsoever and it gets boring watching a car in victory lane. Promotion. Play ads on the radio. Post fliers everywhere. Advertise on the internet. There are thousands of forums and racing websites out there. use that to your advantage. Dont let people steal the sign lol Millstreams sign is missing. Also put up signs in nearby towns. Eldora does this. Have a sign that says "Waynesfield Raceway Park-3 miles" or whatever.

Lol not everyone goes to pits after races, but it wouldnt hurt to have a autograph session

Thats what some times would bother me about eldora and the WoO shows. A lot of the times when they were done racing they were loaded up and the support series would some times have to wait while some of them were leaving the track. It didnt happen all the time , but i remember one time i was there it was going on. Some times what bothers me is all the kids that come to the track and you see them out running around and not sitting in their seats and not watching the races. i know kids these days are a little more restless than they used to be, but mom and dad make them sit and watch. I know i saw security having to be nurse maids to some of them several times.

I know the old allentown in the 60,s about every car had a bar as a backer. You had a lot of the bar crowds that would come out to the track. It wasnt a rowdy crowd either. the word does get out by word of mouth and postings on here. We dont need bashing, A lot has to do with the speed of the program. I dont think one show has went past 10.30. Dean runs a good fast show, even with as many times as he waters the track. I must admit the trucks put on a good show with some door to door racing, What gets me is all the people a few yrs ago said get out and donate your time to make WRP a going track. Where are these people at??. One of them has stepped up by taking over the booth for the weekend and did a very good job. Thats what it takes people who go the extra mile and dont expect some thing in return.

There are some really great ideas on here and I think it's great that people can put their differences aside to make sure this track survives the current times. We have a wonderful promoter in Dean that is willing to try just about anything as long as the results back up the idea. Some positive changes have taken place this past week with the admission changes, announcer sub (wonderful job!)..........and 31 non wingers....WOW! Just to let everyone know also.....Dean allows several media (radio, internet & photography) in every week for free in order to get the word out. There is a radio show from the Findlay area that is there to interview drivers every week and that is broadcast on their weekly racing report. If the $5 per person thing don't put the butts in the seats then we really need to regroup. Wherele can you get that much value (5 classes) for 5 bucks per person???? Please help spread the word! FYI.... I live on St Rt 33 between Lakeview & New Hampshire and if Dean wants to put up a sign in my side yard then I'll be glad to let him!!!! I would be proud to support the facility that I promised Dean & Jane that my wife and I support 100% Passion is first then work ethic follows and believe me....we're all trying! As someone else said before, "the shobes deserve this also"...you're right! And Greg has been there to support Dean every step of the way. Greg left his supper table one night to copme help fix the PA....that's awesome...Thanks Greg!! I promise you that Dean has a passion to make this work and he's comitted. Please hang tough with us and we'll make WRP a well known place everywhere in the midwest.

I know it was nice to hear that a long time car builder from the 70,s Dave Mcpherson ( sorry Dave if i spelled your name wrong) was sitting in the stands sat night. Dave built a lot a sprint and midget cars. There are directions on the web site as to how to get to WRP. Its just my opinion but i dont think you need all the different ideas to bring in fans. Just a good night of racing like last sat night will bring them in. Word of mouth by fans and drivers passing it around is the best way to get the word out. Dean is not just sitting back doing nothing. All you have to do is look at the sign in sheet of the number of media people he is letting in to help with getting the word out. Kenny has also on his own time been sending out articles to different places. I know a guy who was in a bar in wapak and there was a flyer hanging up. Plus every i think friday in the lima news there is a article with wrp, lima and eldora as to what is going on for the weekend. Plus there has been a commercial on wlio of a video showing WRP. I know after the races sat night that about 1/3 of the fans went into the pits. One thing that would be nice is if you could get the winners from the previous week to push there cars over to where Kenny is parked with the drivers and let the fans get some pictures with them or talk to them before the races. It would be a lot nicer than going over in the dark and talking to them.

Oh No :( Just got back from vacation and see that the 360's schedule has been cut (like a watemelon on a hot day)! I have invited friends for like three of the shows that are now gone , including Speedweek :( I am just a fan , of all sprints , but the 360's are awesome around here!!! What happened?

The field cant afford to pay them plus a low car count one race. I dont see why they would eliminate the NRA just because its not attracting fans. How do you know its not other classes or just a bad week? the NRA still brings in a few more cars.

All Stars at Eldora was an obvious reason for the low fan count 30 May ---

I doubt many people (other than the 30 on the forum) really know the 360 winged sprints will be there this saturday, so when the fan count is low again (and car count i'd assume) i hope they don't act suprised.

Last saturday was my first time to the track this year. I Thought it was really dry . I know the track won't stay super tacky all night but the whole track was dry-slick. The sprints were very boring to watch there were two guys were passing and the only reason there was a third groove in 3 and 4 was because westfall cleaned the loose stuff off himself as he was running. Nothing like wathcing 800 horse motors idle all the way through the corners and then barely get on the gas to keep from spinning to much. Just wasn't exciting to me. I also don't think the trucks are usually that fun to watch. Saturday was not one of those usual times. I though they put on a grat feature race. They were 3 wide with no cautions. I found myself getting excited really enjoying it. Good job to the trucks and hope it keeps up! Just my two cents worth. No offense intended to anyone. Thanks!!

this seems to be the problem with the non wings lately... i think its because the track is slicking off a lot
