Im sorry but you dont need another class like a station wagon, People want sprints, mods lates and stocks, Then fill in with the other 3-- trucks, mini,s and compacs. Its hard to compete on a sat night when you have eldora, oakshade, and fremont running on the same night, Tracks that have had a fan base for several yrs. There is only so big of a fan base to draw from. And i dont care what any one says it is a bad economy right now.

What about Sunday nights? Only other place running is Kokomo, Indiana. Take some lessons from their (Kokomo's) track prep team, and start an hour earlier. Didn't Mansfield used to run on Sunday nights during the Baltes reign, and do rather well? Dean would certainly know more about that than I would ... lol.

Gotta change the ATMOSPHERE of the place. I don't have the claim all solution ... and I'm not a race track promoter ... and I don't claim to be ... just offering a possible suggestion.

I truly believe the majority of people want to see Waynesfield Raceway Park succeed ... many are simply getting frustrated. And remember ... that's what most "message boards" are used for ... "sounding boards" ...

Here's to the JACK HEWITT CLASSIC being a huge success!!! Put Hewitt on the mic and give him free reign throughout the night ... I guarantee the crowd will be entertained and leave there with a smile ... and he (Hewitt) will mean every word he says.

There has been one thousand four hundred tweny six views on this story. If we could get that many more people in the stands we would not have subjects like this to talk about.

Who knows that might have been the number of people going to watch the Late Models on Sunday and just found out they were cancelled

maybe there would have been more people in the stands had waynesfield kept the same schedule all season. i havent been to waynesfield nor do i plan on it the rest of the season since they kicked the stocks off after they waited until midnight to run during speedweek. i had plans to take my family down there but cancelled them since waynesfield just keeps changing the schedule.

What I don't get is how shortsighted some of you are being. Yes they changed the schedule, but did it ever occur to you that if they didn't change it, THEY WOULDN'T BE OPEN AT ALL? It appears that Dean and staff are doing all they can to keep the place going and make it better, but all anyone wants to do is complain about it. "They took the stocks off, so Im not going back", or "They cut the 360s so Im not going back" It's like listening to a bunch of kids.

If I had a business that was hemorraging $5000-$10000 every week, I'd damn sure make some changes too.

Kind of like an old car nickel diming you to death. You end up getting rid of it and getting something to replace it.

The fact that several of us left another track to race at WRP shows that we all belive you have a great place to race. You we now have a nice facility and what to me seems to be a good promotor. The economy is hurting everything everywhere. As Ogre said before the asphalt track are real hurting, if Kil Kare or Shady Bowl had 15 stockers they would be jumping for joy. It's also easy to see the business side of it. I just hope the track gets setteld in with what they want and let us know early as possible. I do have a sugestion. More cars equal more fans that means more classes a night. I know time is a consideration but you could take two classes a week and run only mains draw for position.

ramrod let me ask you this if you have a sprint car team and at the beginning of the season you plan on running every other saturday night at waynesfield as well as every friday night at limaland and every NRA race also through the season. your going for 3 titles and one night you show up with only 15 cars at waynesfield and now theres instead of like 8 races left for you there now you have 2 left. i wouldnt go back either. the stock car guys stayed at speedweek until after midnight before they got to race, just to wake up the following morning to find out theres no more stock car races there anymore. its horrible the track wouldnt be struggling as bad (dont take that wrong im not saying they wouldnt be struggling at all just not as bad) if they would just stick to a schedule and let the divisions race that are suppose to be. and as for me im not going to a track where all they seem to do is lie to the divisions.

We're not "struggling", we would just like to see more people in the stands and more cars show up. Have we lost money? Well onloy Dean & Jane know that but I would say that by the end of the season they'll be sitting ok. We want people to help support us. Don;t get me wrong, I'm not saying that if you don't like it go somewhere else, but I am saying that your negativity is bringing other into your trap. If you want to bash WRP all the time then that's your choice and you have that choice to stay home. We would love ot have you but you are American and you have a choice!
