He might have been suspended from lima for shoving someone at lima. If im right the probation was from his actions at eldora during a NRA show. Was Ron at eldora sat night? But it was his cars and money that put the cars and drivers on their track. That is bull to keep him from the banquet. He has some times had at least 3 cars on the track , and even one yr let Long run one of his when he needed to. This is the biggest blunder of the season. Come on even Michael Vick is back in the NFL. This is why lima takes the most hits from the racing community for some of their actions. Look at the amount of money he had to pay out for the claim of his motor and the amount of comments about him cheating. Is this how you treat a winner by kicking him while he is down. I think maybe Ron shoved the wrong person.

Thats my point Ron knows what he did was not right i heard he went to the guy he shoved and talked to him. he served his penalty and served his time, but the banquet is some thing different he should be allowed to have his time and glory. He has brought a lot a talent to the track in his drivers , and the fans who come to see them.

Yes skip he was at eldora saturday night.
on the news of the banquet in my opinion he served his time also when he wasnt able to be there the night that JR was crowned the champion at limaland and for the NRA points. This is a horrible decision and it dont make much sense. Im a huge fan of the hammons racing team and i think its time for them to make a cardboard cut out of Ron sitting down and put it beside the table for the banquet lol
Congrats on another great year of racing Ron, JR and Crew. Good luck on next season and how about making it 3 in a row

I got a feeling you wont see ron or his cars back at lima next yr . This has proably put a end to it. Some will be glad to see it , but for others its a shame. He has done his time for what he has done, and should be allowed at the banquet. A lot a drivers have had more schuffles than him and were only out for a couple of races. This is just another case of im the king and i rule.

I would really hope that ron has JR run at limaland all season next year just to win another title and shove it farther in their faces but i have to say that if Ron does not let JR run down there next season then i will not be attending on a regular basis like i have been so Gene makes a good point limalands the one losing out. #11Posted 06 October 2009 - 06:38 PM
All this over a shove?
I can understand that the university does NOT want to put up with any "violence", nor should they. I also feel that every team should be treated equally. Was his penalty served? What exactly was his penalty? Do they really worry about him opening up some whoop ass on someone at the banquet?
I don't care what your position is, Hammons puts a LOT into the sport/series/LIMALAND, and the punishment needs to be fair and suitable for the offense. This is shiz.

Just seems funny that the probation was put on at eldora from a nra show, The suspension came at lima. But yet sat nights show was a nra show and ron was at eldora. If he was allowed at eldora then he should be allowed at the banquet. The awards banquet is decided over the seasons standings and Ron was a part of the seson. Point being its bull. I heard on the night of the banquet ron is taking all of his backers out to dinner. Dont know if its fact or not but if it is i hope ron has his own night of glory. You cant tell me that the fans didnt enjoy Blaney and Mays coming to lima and running on some nights and Jessica Zemken being in one of his cars sat night at eldora. Ron has put a lot a people in his cars and in the seats in the grandstand, and you cant tell me that the fans havent enjoyed some of the drivers that have given them some exciting nights of racing.

yes skip they are going to texas roadhouse, then meeting jr after he gets his awards. have to agree with you dirtracer48 the penalty should fit the crime, i also understand this was wrong and should have had some kind of punishment, but at the same time the gentleman that ron pushed told the college that it was not all rons fault and it should just be dropped. think the 3 race suspention was plenty and it should be over !!!!!!!!!

Texas Roadhouse? heck i want some congrats to Ron and the whole Hammons team on the great year 2 in a row #16Posted 07 October 2009 - 08:31 PM
TWO THINGS LIMA NEEDS TO MOVE BANQUET TO FIRST WEEKEND IN NOV. BECAUSE OF SHOWS LIKE DIRT TRACK AND OTHER BIG SHOWS AND IF YOU HAVE TO BE THERE TO GET MONEY THEY NEED TO GIVE DRIVER AND OWNER A FREE TICKET. IF ELDORA CAN I THINK LIMA COULD.ALSO HEARD THAT HAMMOND MIGHT SELL OUT AND SAY THE HECK WITH THE WHOLE THING.

I think you are all forgetting some thing, the collage nor the nra was the one doing the yelling at eldora that put the team on probation , it was ron and jr. the collage nor the nra shoved some one at the race track it was ron himself. you have to be responable for your own actions and accept the punishment that goes along with it. what ever it may be. enough said........

i agree hiwayman, but didn't the punishment that involved the remaining points races accomplish that - to extend it to the banquet which is a celebration of the season is harsh in my opinion, an overeaction. Reply to this topic3 user(s) are reading this topic0 members, 3 guests, 0 anonymous users |
