Matt is leading the Waynesfield Points and is 12th in Gas City Points. How is that a tough choice? There's only 2 Waynesfield regulars in the top 30 in Gas City points. I really don't think car counts at either track are going to be affected much. As far as the mods go, don't much think theres gonna be much of a difference there either. We'll just have to wait and see. If the mini sprints dont show, I have a feeling they may be cutting their own throat, but thats just my opinion, take it as you will. See everyone this Saturday for another great night of racing at the field.your correct.

After looking at the schedule for Waynesfield I noticed their "Doubleheader Weekend" coming up July 9th and 10th. I want to make a suggestion to Dean Miracle about the schedule for those two nights. It would make a lot more sense to flip the night you are racing UMP Modifieds and Non-wing Sprintcars. With modifieds on Friday night you will be competing for cars with Union County, Montpelier, and Moler. The only track in the area racing mods on Saturday is Butler, so competing with 1 track instead of 3 makes a lot more sense. With sprints on Saturday, you will be competing with Gas City's Indiana Sprintweek show. I don't even need to go into the reasons why that is a bad idea. Since Lima is not racing Friday it might even be a better idea to race 360 winged sprints that night. Doing it the way it is scheduled now will result in lower car counts in both divisions. A simple change of moving the sprints to friday and modifieds to Saturday would make a lot of sense.
Hell, just lock the gates then.
WRP has no right to have a race on the same night as any other track in a 3 state circle.........
Do you seriously think that a guy from the Lima area is going to tow to Union Co, Montpelier, or Moler, when he can make a 1/2hr drive to WRP????
As for the non wing cars: Truth be told, there are only a few non wing regulars at WRP that can hang with the USAC boys. A regular show at Gas City is still a tough nut to crack, and honestly, winning a race at WRP is tough to do also.
However, the USAC guys have big time $$ in the newest and light parts, new tires all the time, and top shelf screaming motors. Going to Gas City for sprint week and 'putting it on' the USAC boys isn't likely......and don't forget, it's a longer tow for nearly ALL of the WRP regulars. More fuel in the hauler=less profit (or more of a loss) at the pay off window.
Just the facts man......

It was just a suggestion that in my opinion would benefit Waynesfield in terms of car count in both classes. You'll get your regulars, but outside of that its going to be thin. 2 nights in a row will compound that. Working with other tracks should benefit WRP. Example: Jack Hewitt Classic (at Waynesfield) qualification by winning a feature at Gas City. Sounds like a good way to encourage more Gas City cars to go to Waynesfield right? So how do you say thanks? Schedule against Gas City's biggest show of the year. Brilliant. Ignore what other tracks do and keep working against them and those gates will be locked because people quit coming. And if I have read correctly, there aren't that many coming as it is.

Apparently you can't understand the point of my previous message.
NOTE: The following is NOT a slam on the sprint cars that run at WRP. The regulars put on a great show, and are darn tough to beat when 'outsiders' come in.
WRPs non wing class, has guys running a multitude of engine sizes, somewhat older cars and engines, low buck teams etc. There are just a handful of cars and drivers that can run with the USAC boys.
It's not the cars and drivers with sponsors known nationwide, and 2 new cars ready to go in the shop, paid mechanics and crew, with guys driving them that race for a living/are racing 3 times a week...that is USAC.
There isn't a lot of competition for cars and drivers, between a USAC Sprint Week show at Gas City, and a regular program of non-wing cars at WRP.

And apparently you can't understand the point of my original message. A simple, small shuffle of classes in a two night program could result in a greater number of cars and fans passing through the gate. If even 1 more car chooses to come, that is more money in the promotor's pocket.
