I didn't actually see it cause I was shooting the opposite end of the track. I was told the black #13 Josh Lutz truck spun out and stopped while Hicks was running hard fighting for a top 3 position and crashed into Josh. Mike's far left front hit Josh's truck flattening Hicks' tire and crumpling the left front fender and kickpanel (floorboard) area. By the time I walked down there, the saftey team was applying alot of gauze wrapping to Mike's left foot/ankle area because of a bad cut that needed stitches. His ankle looked pretty swollen and I later heard that his foot was broken in 4 places. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Hang in there Mike!! Our family is praying for a speedy recovery.

Mike's facebook page says he was out of surgery at 3:30 am. He is at St.Ritas. As us leaders were coming out of turn 2, lap truck spun and 25g went low hitting the spinning trucks front end and pushed that truck a little back up the track and Mike was trying to go around high and hit into the rear of spinning truck to Mike's left front.

I think me and mike should stay away from each other in turn one and two. Its a shame, he got tore up last year by lap traffic too. I like to envision Mike floating in his pool with his foot proped up and Chris bringing him cold corona's. Hopefully Chris won't be wearing his speedo .

Not really a "lmao" comment Master of all. Mike was injured pretty severe and will take a long recovery to overcome it. He's a good driver and knows how to get around lapped traffic. It's just unfortunate that the lapped truck ended up getting into Mike's escape route to avoid it. Anyway way Mike, we're all thinking of you and wish you the best!

ok dan, for 1 i was not blaming mike (mike is a very talented driver) all im saying is they need to take thier time or not wreck each other when lapping traffic. it only pays 200 to win.. as in last night it was a spun lap truck and ya it got in mike's excape route ( i was not blaming no one).. its a learner class and it has more injuries than any other class there at wrp... so dont turn this subject into a arguement orge. but in the 25g post he can joke about him being in a pool drinking beer ? but i cant comment on them passing lap traffic like they are winning a big money race and a big trophy.. sometimes 2nd or 3rd can be better than 1st

hey catch a clue here "master of dumb" 25g gets to make fun because he has raced for years with Mike and have fun every Race night. And to date, since I have run at Waynesfield for 6yrs. Mike is the first person ever sent to the hospital in a truck. It may only be 200 to win, but to us who work our AS@#@ off. Its our Daytona 500. Stay in the stands fool.

Master your on here a lot and I assume you go to a lot of races. How many times do you see lapped traffic get in the way of the leaders. And how many times do you see leaders get taken out by lapped traffic. Its not to bad to pass lapped traffic if they are holding their line, but throw in the fact that the truck was sideways in the track and spinning puts a new prespective into the equation. I take it you are a spectator and not a racer by the comment that were only racing for $200. Because it really doesent matter if the top prize is a piece of bubble gum, real racers would race as hard for that as they would for $2000. Nobody racing on the local level is making any money, they do it because they love it. And no I'm not giving anyone crap about being a lapped truck. I'm happy everyone in the class is here and racing, you can't gain racing experence unless you are out there doing it.Where do you think the Mod, sprint, latemodel and Nascar drivers come from. We all started somewhere , we all screw up, hopefully we learn from our mistakes. Matt's right in the 6 yrs we have raced at Waynesfield this is the first wreck in the Trucks I can remember where anyone going to the hospital. MIKE Hope you have a speedy recovery. you got that one right, when the juice is flowing on the track, don't matter what your racing for. As far as that lapped traffic, I spun the same way 2 weeks earlier, get in the loose stuff up high, don't matter what you do, its going around. In fact that might be why he went too high, trying to get out of the way.

1st off i will talk to u weasel since u have sense and u dont call people names like fatt matt lol, yes i understand everything about racing and yes u are right about racing for bubble gum lol all i was saying instead of forcing holes they should back off and not put that rookie lapped truck in most situations that they get put in..( i know he was spinning and being lapped) he is not the 1st to do that.... im in the pits every week and have been in racing since 1974 ( the year i was born )....been at eldora, millstream, limaland, new breman, waynesfield and a few tracks here and there. ur also right if ur not out there holding ur line as a lapped truck and u still get wrecked thats wrong..(look on youtube on hicks in truck camera and u will see the proof of atleast 1 truck get in the wreck being lapped and held its line the whole race and got taken out with chris hicks ( so look at his in truck camera ).and i could go on and on but thats enough for u weasel.. i know u been around racing as long as i have.. ok now for u fat matt i was not saying anything bad about ur brother , i was saying if he can joke then i can joke since ive been at the field since day 1.. i remember when the field had 1 or 2 trucks the 1st year and 1 of them was a girl racer (butler). just because they didnt leave in the ambulance dont say they wasnt hurt, they just didnt take the ride in the ambulance ( and no i wont stay in the stands fool ) im made and born for the pits. i can make alot of fun of u but i dont lmao (and if we are going by senority im above u because i raced go carts against mikes whole family in the 80's and 90's at c-ville and wards raceway in lima, and indoors at marion, dayton,ft.wayne and oh yeah a few road races at wapakoneta sycamore and ect.).. so that puts u behind me.. so on this note u told me in person matt that this truck class is a tight family and help each other out so let help mike and maybe start a donation for him if needed this coming weekend.. now to the real reason why this post was started anyone know how mike is doing and what all the dr. had to do to him? if not i will just go ask his family next sat in the pits!!!!!!!!!! now get well mike and get back to the track soon

For all the crying, bickering and arguing, here's my 2 cents. The lap truck spun, and was moved up the track. 33 was committed and didn't have much choice in where he was going in the matter. I don't expect those who have never driven anything to understand this, and of course I might be wrong but that's what I saw. It was a racing deal, an accident and it is OVER. Why does everything have to be a debate?

1st of all i was not reffering to this past weekend, i know what happened there could not of been prevented, that was a racing accident, but other times this year could of been prevented is all im saying

First of all get well soon Mike hope thats not what you meant by keeping your foot in it Ned.) Second I have been lapped many times in the two plus years I have been racing with them. I have never been spun out by any of the drivers in the truck class! They are a good bunch of guys and gals. Hope to see you all on the track soon. Randy
