For starters this is Mike if no one knew. I appreciate the posts the emails the texts and people stopping by the hospital to see me I have herd the only friends that you have at the racetrack are the ones you bring with you....NOT TRUE I saw the true colors of a few very important people that I race with and they did somethings for me, my wife and family that was never exspected you guys know who you are so again thanks. For the people who have saw the video on my facebook page I hope everybody can see that it was one of racings freak things. From what I understand I just caught him in a bad spot, the back bumper went through my firewall that was aluminum and I had a swing mount pedal kit from a modified that was secured very well untill the impact the cast metal that hold the pedals and resovoirs snapped in a few places, causing my big toe to break dislocate and force through the bottom of my foot. The pinky toe the doctor had to cut into so that he could put it back in place. The other three toes had to have pins inside them because all the bones were crushed. Doc says no weight for 6-8 weeks and not walking properly for a minimum of 3 mo. I read your post Master of all and it could be taking multiple different ways like matt stated we are all a very close group and thats why the comments were said, if you want a mature response you cant state something that can be taking multiple different ways. I personally dont know who you are but would enjoy meeting you, if your in the pits just stop bye and say hi. For everyone else thanks for all the things that have been done and said I hope the doctor is wrong and that I can get back into the truck before too long wish me luck.

glad ur doing better mike, it was a freak racing accident and my comments wasnt made towards anyone, they were made because thats how i see most of the wrecks in the truck class, if u guys havent notice the truck class is shrinking and thats not good because im 1 of ur biggest fans and i think right now the trucks are heart beat of wrp.. i appoligize if i offened anyone, that was not my intenstions.. it just seems like there are few people that race trucks and they think they are the superstars of wrp.. (not the hicks or jacobs ) i sat in the stands 2 weeks ago for the truck feature and heard these superstars yelling to have chris hicks tore down after he won and chris yelled back at them to tear him down lol this is all i got to say on here because it can be looked at in several diff ways, so on that note if i have more to say i will just come say it to who ever i think i need to say it too.... im glad that mike is in the mood to talk on here and if it was me i wouldnt wanna put up with racestud gossip. so my family wishes the hicks family all the best in ur recovery... u guys need to get the ranger x a win before he deploys ...he is gettin better each week

wow MOA I think think that was a good post. I didn't get to tell Shawn but racing him in the heat race i was really impressed. Seems like in the last three weeks he just keeps getting better. When you take into account the pressure from having the rest of the family running so good and his time line to deploy WOW. He got around the 10b totally clean and even though he was faster he even showed patience. Wish him the Best and Thank him for serving.

well thank you master of all and goober i would like to think that im gettin better as a driver but its only because of the people i race with. a wise man once told me your only as good as the level of competion and the lvl of the truck class is high. i dont care who you are or what class you run you cant deny that the truck class(weather a enrty lvl class or not)has great compition. im glad that dean and everyone at wrp has given us the chance to grow as drivers, and in times of trouble, come together as family. i have seen and learned more in these last few weeks as a driver and as a man from ppl i race with so i would like to thank all of you. this is my last race for a while so hopefully im fast enough to get that all imporant win. but if not i will have fun doing it, and after all if you cant fun why even come to the track. but im glad mike is fine and i will see you all at the track on saturday

WOW this is the first that I have been on here since last week and look at all I missed out on. Mike I sure hope the doc gave you some good drugs because that sounds painfull. I hope you recover soon maybe you can get you a real fast wheel chair for a few weeks (talk your grandpa into hoping it up).

For starters the doc had giving me some very gooooooooooooddddddddd drugs lol it numbs everything else in my body besides my foot imagine that lol. MOA I have herd everyone cry moan and complain a few years back it was the same thing when I was winning, after my 3rd win to be honest with you it sucked to win anymore people didn't like u know more my personal fans exspected it from me and I felt like an outkast if you tried to help anyone out I personally felt that they took it as being I was better than them and for someone that loves to race and be liked at the same time that was the hardest thing I ever encountered while racing. My point is that I. don't feel that my brother should feel that way he has put to much time and effort into getting where he's at right now. WRP is the only place we currently run and I would hate to loose that because people want to bitch and moan instead of trying to get better and put the time effort and what little money that may be there back into what they love. And for shawn he has had big shoes to fill and that is a hard thing to do but he had got the right people on his side and has done an excellent job doing it, he has never stopped learning and that's what it takes to win. I'm happy that the post wasn't meant to offend anyone cause that's the last thing we need in the class right now. Thanks to everybody that has wished me a speedy recovery now its up to my foot to control what the future brings cause my mind and heart says hurry and heal I wanna go racing lol. O yeah and I forgot I have to convence the wife it was just a freak thing that could of happened anywhere. She's a little nervous since the only two majior accidents we ever had has invoved me, what's the odds of that lol. I hope to see everyone Saturday. And if I don't I wish everybody the best of luck.

Well said Mike. I don't know if this will help you or hurt you in convincing the wife. Before you started racing I came out of 4 one night and Corey Critchfield spun. I already comitted to go high and his spin caused him to drift up the track and turn to face me head on. I plowed his front end head on. We hit so hard it pulled his carb blots right out of the intake and his carb was laying on the ground. I ended up knocked out and had a concussion. The concussion part was my own fault as I had a bar too close to my head and it was unpadded. My truck had bent the front clip and so did Corey's. That was the hardest hit I ever encountered and I've tried to know the turn 4 wall down at Limaland with my stockcar before...lol I really think it was a freak thing for the bumper to go over the wheel and into your footbox. Maybe adding a bar and some plating around the footbox will help convince her. Overall the truck class has only had our three acidents that required hospital check ups. Remember when Derrick Noffsinger tried to know the light pole down at Lima.......and he walked away. Overall they are pretty safe I think.

well I guess you seem to think I'm this superstar. I don't hide a thing, thats something that usually is my problem. You know like, use my real name for these posts, that way some might see what I'm thinking. If I have a great run and win, I like to show it. If I feel I make a mistake on the track, (as racers always do), I let those effected by that mistake know I realize it. Whatever, when you win too much your hated. I Hope Chris doesn't have to find that one out like Mike and I have. It's sad really, people always want to take down those on top. As far as any jokes about having Chris tore down, believe me, they were just that. JOKES!! Besides, I would have to give him $200,LOL Having a good time is what we do, some take that as being SUPERSTARS!! I'll just keep having a great time with all the racers in the truck class. You did touch a nerve with me in your post and I should have just let it lay, hard to do when I see a guy pushing the morphine button as fast as he drives. Many of us know that maybe we should move on from this 'Beginners' class and challenge ourselves in a stock or mod. But, 'No sponsor', can't really even think about that. Hope you keep on a coming to WRP and supporting our habits.

dont worry matt im not going no where, im at wrp every race.. sorry i touched a nerve by calling u guys superstars... i was not saying anything about mike and his driving nor his wreck in my 1st post, that was orge that read my post wrong. i was reffering to everyone that races in trucks because if u didnt notice the truck class has took a big hit in attendence this year from the trucks getting tore up and evedently taking several weeks to fix them.. they went from 20 plus to last week having 13 ( i think it was)....

MOA......yea I took this statement from you: "looks like to me u guys need to learn to pass lapped traffic lmao " as being all truck drivers that would include Mike as being the wrong time to post something like that. I apologize if I took it the wrong way. Mike is a damn good driver and person and I just didn't want this accident to be lableled as him "needing to learn to lap trucks". At any rate, sounds like Mike has a long road to recovery but his spirits are great as they should be. He's able to talk to everyone about it and still has his wife and family at home with him. Mike will be back. We have an exciting show on tap for this weekend again and it appears that the weather will be super. I must also say that I'm proud to have been a part of the truck class and raced with most of you.....you guys and gals are a bunch of class people! I've raced karts, SCCA Formula cars, Stocks, Trucks and even ran demo derbies and never been around as good of people as you all. Now that I've been out of it for a few years I have a new outlook on racing. I too was caught up at one time in the thing that Matt, Chris and Mike have been through. When you have found the right combination and start winning it turns into a not so fun situation. Once that happens it's hard to stay interested and enjoy the sport. If a guy or girl is winning alot then the rest need to figure out a way to beat them and simply be happy for them. Winning doesn't last forever. Let's keep it fun for everyone. I've noticed that there are several trucks that are running really good: the 26, 18n, 1x, 71, 25g, 1w, X and 33 could win on any given night. Then you have another group that is also fast and is ready to pounce: MT1, 37, 89, 17, 10B, and 43 that is running really well in the pooints and could also win. I just want this class to remain a 20 car field every week. There are plenty of trucks out there and we just need them all to show up. Most imnportant thing is something that my friend Matt Twining says: "It's all about having fun". Enjoy racing to those that still are able to. Even if you can't afford to race on a given night then it's still ok to come watch in the stands.

Any one that gives me any crap i will trip them when they walk by. Just think Mike your gonna have a couple of weeks R&R of honey get me a beer honey get me this. By the way Mike tell your wife im sorry i didnt let her in at first , i couldnt see the wreck and how bad it was. Ive been told that when a wreck happens no pit pass no one in. But when she said they were taking you in i changed my mind. So tell her im sorry. To many panic even with a small crash and want to go running out onto the track and all they do is get in the way of the safety teams and let them do their jobs. Get well will you be able to be up and around for this weekend and come and watch or is it one of those stay off your feet for a while and keep it up, I MEAN YOUR FOOT.

Skip, no hard feelings! I completely understand that you were just doing your job. I waited close to the pit entrance to see what was going to happen before I tried to force my way through:) And he is definetly taking advantage of this! I really want to thank everyone for their well wishes for Mike. You have know idea how much it helps him get through each day having everyone cheering him on. I realize it was a freak accident and I really want Mike to race again some day but no one has any idea what I have had to see him go through over the past couple days. He is a really strong person and this is really testing his limits. It's not going to be a speedy recovery, it's going to take patience (which doesn't come easy for Mike)! We hope to be there Saturday to cheer on Ranger X and hope that he gets his first win before he goes off to boot camp. Look for Mike to be riding around in a golf cart w/his foot elevated. I need extra eyes in the pits to make sure he does what he is suppose to:)- *Wifey 33*
