I'm not A promoter. But how does cancelling a race the week of the race help car count or fan count? There are tracks running every weekend , if you have what the people want to see they will be there. By changing the schedule four days before a race you may not have cars to watch the rest of the year.

I think the writing is on the wall, you may have to read between the lines, lets just hope next year the owner runs the right classes

As far as i know Dean has a 3 yr lease i think.

Thats whats wrong its a business. This form of racing used to be fun and inexpensive. Now just about every class is expensive with minimal pay. The whole program is being run like a business. Most racers at this level even treat it as a business. Heck how many people show up to watch you work????? I work all week I don't need to pay 12-30 bucks to feel like I'm at work. Been on both sides just as a fan and involved with a car. Last few years its all seemed like a job and a bit robotish.
No fault of DEANs sometimes business fail. Thats the reality of it. The tracks been around for awhile so far people aren't buying what Dean is selling. The economy is down but people are still spending money on entertainment. So Waynesfields business like approach is not entertaining enough.

You just hit the nail perfectly square ... excellent post!

Well the only thing I will say is the two lowest cost race classes in the area are probably the trucks and compacts. The track had what I feel was a pretty ambitious schedule this year. I don't think the WRP scheduled so many races just so that they could cancel them. I think we all want the track to grow. I know I do. I also think a lil time off right now is probably gonna help out a few drivers that got tore up recently. I know this year it seems like a lot of trucks have gotten tore up, and haven't been back since. I can tell you that the week off I'm gonna spend doing some much needed tlc on the old truck. Dean and his wife have great intentions for the track, and they are doing some petty cool things with the track. I just hope that the track keeps growing and makes it thru its growing pains.

Man this is one of the better posts I've seen on Racestud. The only problem is, I don't think mixing it up on the front stretch with the 71 driver will work out in my favor. LOLOLOLOL

Been to alot of tracks over the years. Waynesfield being one of them. I have said it before Waynesfield has some of the best racing around. The place is just dead when it comes to atmosphere or excitement for the fans.
Some places i have been the racing wasnt that great but the place was buzzing people were going nuts. I was wondering why. Then I noticed some drivers had bad blood with other drivers. Nothing major just some fun on the front stretch after the race. I came to the conclusion a little side show does wonders for putting people in the stands. Just look at racestud. The only time it gets big post #s when there is some side show topic. Lets face it people want to see a train wreck.
Nascar attendance was going down. What did they do started letting them bang wheels again.
