Well Skip I just installed a fuel cell in the son's compact. Removed the tank that was uder the car and put the cell in rear of car. After doing this now I'm more concerned then ever as now I have a cell that has a 35lb pressure pump inside the car now instead of under it. (takes that much pressure to run fuel injecteted engine) Now I'm going to be forced to deck in the car somehow to keep him seperate from cell. These cars are not like a stocker or mod where the pump is on the engine. Not for sure yet if this was a good plan.

Could be worse, because they have no extra room, the fuel pumps on the sprint cars is between your legs and they are turning the same RPM as the cam. They are also fuel injected. The fuel cell is a much much safer way to go, good move putting one in your son's car.

You got it RR, there shouldn't be a car on any racetrack w/o a fuel cell. They are really not that expensive when you think it might save you from severe gas or alcohol burns. also roll cages should be inspected, and burnable materials inside the car removed, etc.

Not sure where you live but it is about an hour and 40 minutes from the Indiana/Ohio line. Its a nice track. Tight 1/4 mile with a concrete wall all the way around. A flat bottom and around 16 degrees of banking from the middle to the top in the corners. It usually develops a pretty heavy cushion due to the wall. There are still some good races in Indiana left this year. The Kokomo Klash and Monster Mash at Montpelier are both can't miss events.
