I dont understand how you get DQed and the car can even be allowed back on the track at all the rest of the night.Miley's and fastrak need to come up with answer for this one lol.93x has a lip that does not do a freaking thing to help performance and gets dqed but you can start fight in the pits and still send your car out thats a freaking joke!


The FASTRAK portion of the event was run under FASTRAK NE Touring rules. My understanding is all rules were followed. PPMS elected to have our highest point car, as points go with the car at PPMS, AS A PROVISIONAL prior to the event. So if the 75 car was still eligible per FASTRAK rules, then that was the correct provisional from PPMS. I was told by FASTRAK that was the case.

i was right there when 75 asked if someone else could drive his car, and the official said i don't think so.......so whatever happened after that i don't know...

My guess is that some money probably exchanged hands and they were given the green light.

Never heard of anyone getting DQed and there being able to.run for points but I guess it is a new rule lol!

i feel like there was a lot done wrong with all that happened. i definitely dont have anything against mark or colton even helped them put the car back together but i have no idea what was going on. fastrak or the mileys needed to come to a final decision not half of a decision. i did not see the event in question and heard multiple versions so i have no opinion on it. one thing i do know is that it should have either been one way or the other. either they shoulda told all parties involved load up and go home or else they should have let all parties stay and race (aka colton drive his car the rest of the night). if either of those would have happened idt there would be any complaining going on here but when fastrak kept telling people ask the mileys and mileys said ask fastrak it created problems and pointed alot of fingers and is creating a lot of confusion. jmo. i had a lot of fun being able to go up in the stands during the show for the autographs because the fans had a lot more time to go around and talk to drivers. it seems like when we have the cars on the track all they try to do is rush everyone and get the fans off the track. maybe we could have a couple autograph nights throughout the year that way the kids can see all the drivers or do like some other tracks and have an autograph night for each class. one night do lates another sportsman etc.

Sounds like a Mickey Mouse run operation to me. Matt, you need to rethink the provisional. YOU should earn the right to race. Agree with Kyle, man up and make a decision even if the party involved doesnt like it.

All the other standard Rocket spoilers passed, so something obviously was amiss with yours. I don't think you are important enough to have a vendetta against you by anyone. And if you knew it had to be fixed, why did you run the race? Bottom line, FASTRAK has attracted far more racers because of strict rule enforcement, than not. Numbers speak for themselves. I went to three of the Speed Week races, and the racing was great.

Thank you. And yes. We were issued a pre-race inspection sticker. Brad said if he would have seen the spoiler he wouldn't have issue the sticker. He did tell me in the line up for the B main that if I made the feature, I'd have to fix it. Well A.) I didn't make it into the feature, and B.) it's an .80 aluminum Powdercoated Rocket spoiler which you aren't bending without a brake, and C.) it's not against the rules per the fastrak rule book.

Brad Hibbard is a good guy with a long history of integrity. How else could he work on engines and also inspect them? He'd have to impose sanctions on himself if he ever caught himself cheating...checks and balances, you know. I'm sure he will do the right thing and post a reply explaining how his decision is the correct one. In Brad we trust.

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.

well obviously when all you do is race with the tech guru himself you are going to know what to do... but when the traveling circus comes to town, most of the drivers have cars which are legal every week until he comes to town.

My question is, once you are considered a FASTRAK "regular" on the touring series, or are a favored driver, does that mean you don't ever get the same treatment as someone who is not a regular? If that is the case, couldn't their cars also be illegal, it is just their involvement with the series gives them a "pardon?"

Simple your body has to fall within a set of rules...if it don't then fix it...pretty simple to me...I build my own body and measure to the max that is allowed...not hard...I had in years past have to cut of as much as a 1/4 inch...I did it without a bitch and got to race...not a big deal...I would not have cut up a 200$ wing...but then again I would not have spent 200$ on a wing...LOL...sorry Justin.

too be honest a standard rocket spoiler is not legal in fastrak. brad and i have had this discussion many times but we have to follow their interpretation. and as long as everyone does i do not have a problem with it. not saying anything against russ but if justin wants to blame anyone this is where the blame should be. russ made his body and it looks pretty good but russ ran some fastrak races last year and had to know that the spoiler should have been smashed shut. and if he would have told rocket that he needed a spoiler for a crate they would have smashed it for him before it was sent to powdercoat (i've been down there when they have taken crate spoiler orders) and then it wouldnt look like crap (which they do when you do it at the track and not with the proper tools).

Just because it came from Rocket doesn't mean its automatically legal. Car builders are famous for pushing the rules. Usually an inspection sticker means a car has passed whatever items the tech man was checking pre-race. They usually randomly pick certain measurements and check them. They cannot check everything pre-race on every car. If that was the case we would be there all night. Just because the tech man doesn't check something pre-race, doesn't excuse it if it is not legal. It's ultimately up to the race teams to make sure their car complies to the rule book. FASTRAK rules say 8" spoiler. Not 8" with a lip.

Should I even answer this? Oh what the heck, here goes! Man up, cut me a break! Why doesn't everyone on here man up and post their real name or team they are associated with?...not that it's that hard to tell.

For the record, the very first time the 93x team approached me, I "manned up" and said, it's FASTRAK's call. They said, we were told it's your call. I went directly to FASTRAK with the 93x team, sort of like the go to jail card in monopoly. FASTRAK said the decisions were per their rules and their call. That was the first involvement of any Miley in the issue.

Being the men that we are, the Miley's "manned up" an offered another provisional at our expense. That's the best we could do. When we sign a contract with a touring series and pay them to come in and run their portion of the show, we honor it. The Miley's have no problems with FASTRAK, as from what we can see, they followed their rules, whether you like them or not. Prior to the event we asked for our highest point car that didn't make the show to be added. FASTRAK did that. We paid both the FASTRAK and PPMS provisionals full pay-our contract permits a $100 deduction for each.

Why does PPMS add provisionals - to reward our weekly racers that may not have luck on their side at a big PPMS event. We still let 24 guys "earn" their way in. In fact at the remaining Crate Specials we will let 30 guys earn their way in, then add 2 provisionals, one high weekly point "car" , one high Sizzler Series point car if their are greater than 32 cars. 32 or less, we will start them all!

We have learned some things from these events and will strive for continuous improvement at PPMS. Maybe some day everyone will be happy, but then we wouldn't need Racestud!

By the way, the racing was fantastic. Great job by the FASTRAK teams of putting on a show for the fans that braved the heat. Many of Those in attendance told us they enjoyed the show.

I think the provisional shoulda went to the the next highest pms regular in the points that did not make the show then.That woulda been fair.

I would say all of us FASTRAK teams chose FASTRAK because of the enforcement and fairness of the rules. To the poster/posters that imply that there are favorites in the series or if your a touring regular you get tech breaks....there is simply no truth to this statement other than what you choose to believe. Body infractions have never been tolerated during touring races. There is no one to blame, not the chassis manufacture, not the body man.....not anyone but the driver, period. The measurements and templates for the body is cleary written in black/white in the rule book which is provided to each and every driver who is registered with the sanctioning body. The aforementioned chassis manufacturer has built bodies for our cars and WE clearly stated that WE needed a FASTRAK body and spoiler done to FASTRAK specs. The manufacturer had no problem complying when asked to do so. Our first body was a used body and spoiler that came with the used car that we purchased, guess what? We were at a race with tin snips modifying it because WE did not follow the rules...assuming that because the car was run as a FASTRAK car, everything was as it should be. OUR first mistake was Assumming! The bodies that are built for us now and to be used this season had some minor issues that were found during our first touring race this season...not just ours but at least 4 others were found to have the same issue...we were ALL told to fix the infraction during pre race tech or risk losing points and money. Guess what? WE all complied. You can choose not to fix the infraction and run the race being fully aware that if the infraction is not fixed and you put your self in a position to be in TECH INSPECTION after the race is over....YOU are going to be penalized. That is each and every drivers choice. That is what PRE RACE and POST RACE tech is all about. Mr. Hibbard is not at each and every race track during the season for the weekly sanctioned tracks...it is the tracks tech inspectors jobs to either follow these rules and issue the infractions during the weekly racing...or choose to let it go on the wayside. I would personally rather see them issue the infractions. Bottom line is I don't have a dog in this fight nor am I showing any partiality towards Mr. Hibbard, FYI he's not our motor builder for those of you who want to throw that one at me..however hes a damn good one and he is a damn fair technical inspector. I will be the first one to say that We are not always happy with some of the things that go on...but you all need to remember that FASTRAK is still in it's infancy and no other sanctioning body has experienced the growth during it's infancy as FASTRAK has. We chose this series because there are clearly set and enforced rules and those rules make an equal playing field for everyone involved...Whether you agree with me or not I personally could not care less ....plain and simple IT IS WHAT IT IS Marian Wright Chad Wright Racing-TBR
