Steve Everhart calls it quits after 20 years of racing, well over 100 feature wins and 10 track championships.

Yea he was always a good driver, raced everyone clean and with respect until they would run him dirty and he always just returned the respect they raced him with. I herd he just had enough of everything. He had a few big wins at the specials at hummingbird at the chili 100. I followed him everywhere he went I didn't miss too many of his races hes a local driver for me.

Was that his equipment or did someone else own it?

My guess is ran out of tracks where his antics would be tolerated.

Everything was his except the trailer. Everyone knows he was a Damn good driver unz dont have to post shit about him because Ur jealous of him. Everyone knows he was a clean driver until he got ran dirty and after a few times of it he returned the same thing. No need to talk shit on him.....

Not jealous at all of him. Just calling him what he is. An idiot and a dirty driver that hit just about every car he ever passed on a racetrack. An out of control hot head that was even caught on regional TV a few years ago acting like a baby on the frontstretch of TVR. Good bye and good riddence.

Evidently you guys dont know him very well. And where did you used to work with him at ? Just curious because I too used to work with him thats how I got to know him. Always knew him and went and watched him race........ and I herd he reads what people post on here and just laughes about it all so really dont think Ur gana hurt his feelings. Lol say what unz want but anyone who knew him well knows hes a Hell of a good guy and nothing like unz are describing and saying about him. Everyone that races has there moments of getting pissed off. A driver is only going to take so much of rough driving before they return the same back. I have to say there wasn't ever once I was embarrassed to have his racing shirt on at any track.

Everytime I saw this guy race he was pissed off because he passed very few cars in his career without hitting them. Dont say it was because of rough driving. He just expected guys to pull over and let him pass if he was behind them. He has always been one of these guys that thought they were entitled to a spot just because they could get to the next cars rear bumper. Grow a set and go to the outside and pass like a man instead of hitting everyone and everything around the track. How many times over the years did he pout like a baby and swear he would never be back to a track only to return after a few weeks when he found his crap wasnt put up with anywhere else either. And I guess you must not have been at TVR the night he took a swing at anyone close to him after he took himself out due to stupidity of not even having patience to pass a lapped car. If you were not embarrassed that night then he could have done anything at you would still support him.

Think the trailer was owned by Imlers! Jeff Heilman owned the cars and motors! Steve just drove the stuff! Jeff and crew are first class people! Won't say anything bad about Steve...except his temper got him into a lot of trouble! And personally...I never thought he was a big enough man to have a temper like that! And you could tell when he got mad...he hit everycar he passed! With that being said...still a decent driver!

Jeff hileman is Steves uncle I know him pretty well. He didn't own everything Steve and Jeff were in it together they both owned everything but the trailer an yea Ur correct it was imlers trailer. Steve didn't just drive the car he was part owner of everything with Jeff. And yes I was at tvr that night and no I was not embarrassed by what he did. That lapped car was given the lay over flag about six laps in a row and Steve patiently followed and was cut off about three times and coming down the front stretch he was above the lap car and he came up into Steve and Steve just didn't lift. Steve might not be very big but sure can back himself up. His entire family is that way not very big but dont piss them off.
