this thread is a blast.... steve really dont give a rats hairy @$$ what is said on this or any other board. he knew last year that 2012 was gonna be his last year driveing, told crew and family that he was done when he turned 50. his bithday was june 28th. as for all the haters on here now you can be happy... supporters thank you, hope you had fun cheering or booing.as for being thrown out of every track we raced at get your facts right. dog hollow and thunder vally for one race. bedford was for crews actions that being me given a select few the one finger salute. 16 years and 87 wins think with those wins we would have to of wrecked some 2,000 cars wow lol.. dont really matter what you bashers think its water under the bridge. as for on track action i wasnt behind the wheel,he was responsable for that but we were there to support him. as for dog hollow more than one car had a sight on gordon, he just acted first. p.s. i wont hide behind a screen name im steves youngest brother troy.....

About time people agree with me on here. Glad to see someone from Steve's family set the facts straight. Im pretty sure troy also been in Steve's latemodel and finished second so dont try saying hes never been in one. Dog hollow if i remember correctly. Troy ive been a huge fan of Steve's since hes started racing. I really hate to see him go. Bill

Been around racing a long time, seen good and bad sides to all drivers. one thing i know for sure is a good driver is Human and makes mistakes(none are perfect) So that leaves room for some ugly in all us . I can remember a time in Steve Everharts early years where he moved cars out of the way in a street stock, back with Harry Smith and so on from Hesston. Years ago, But like most people, our lives tend to change,we grow up,start being more respectfull of others and equiptment. some of us hold onto only the bad but some of us start to see the good. Thats what we do as people on common ground . Seen Steve make 3 very bad choices in His 20 years . Larry Wright at bedford ,thunder valley, and yes Gordon at Dog Hollow . Huge mistakes he probobly whishes not to reflect on . As i saw on two ocasions ,we shouldnt even be looking at drivers ,we should be looking at the lack of Speedway officials enforcing thier own rules ...... At bedford and the dog several attempts where made for officials to speak to respective drivers about thier driving skills and NOTHING was done ever. So yes it took a bonehead move both times to resolve issues and it did. The right move ? NOT but the only one that worked both times. Point fingers at the wright people and dont be so Judgemental. Steve could of had 200 wins if he didn't lift and break race after race at Thunder valley or any place he raced in the last ten or so years As a matter of fact , ask anyone , the only way you can win at Thunder is stick your nose in and push. Seen him fall victim to many spin outs and go to rear and come back and win. Not touching a car, so im not quite sure where all your ill feelings come from but ill bet most of its a Grudge. you have a real chip on your shoulder for some reason, and its caused you to lose sight of a rather good driver. And oh yes ! he said a few years ago he would quit at age 50. Was going to race this year out but Imlers had motor sold so he opted out early . He is not barred from any track and could come back tommorw. Maybe with all Gordons money they could put him in a car and he could drive like Andrew. What thats right Andrew doesn't hit anybody , well at least we know everhart wouldnt have to change his driving skills. No matter what people say about him he is who he is but one things for sure, he does have a good heart and would do anything for anybody. The greatest thing ill remember about him is the night he changed a young mans life, one who loves racing so much he flags from his seat, you may have seen him. After an emotional victory lane Steve gave Billy his trophy and changed his life forever. What a heartless , thoughtless , indisspiciable act . Shame on Everhart Is that not how you all see him .

Hey troy does Steve's son have any plans of building a car soon ? I hear he takes after Steve so im sure with a few years of racing he could amount up to a Damn good driver like his dad. Im going to have to make it down you guys way soon and talk to Steve. Bill Holtz

The move over flag is displayed when the slow as hell lappers get in the road and they need to relinquish the racing groove to the lead lap cars, HOW HARD IS THIS TO UNDERSTAND. Pick up the pace or get out of the race.

Why is there such a misconception over the lay over flag? The lay over flag is to be used to alert a lapped car(or soon to be lapped car) that the leader is coming. Said lapped car is to hold their line. Running high stay high, running low stay low. It by no means is intended for the lapped car to move out of the preferred line(how does the lapped car know what line the leader is running) to allow the leader to pass.

Nothing like a little dirt in your BEER!

I heard wrisco aluminum had to do some cut backs since they got word the sale of yellow is going to be drastically cut down

That goes to show just how much you guys payed attention to Everhart. He ran the same body on his cars all year.

justin has hopes and dreams of getting a car but that prob. will be what it is. on the brighter side his dad never started till in his early 30s.Now we have more time to hunt mule deer in idaho... and you were correct i did finish 2 in mech race that was won by a veteran driver . go figure.... btw bleacher drivers and screen drivers have no clue what its like to hit the go pedal. in car cams are as cloose as i can say of what you can see. stop at steves sometime bill and check out his trophies all there but what he gave to billy.later

Well I sure hope it goes further than hopes and dreams. I want to hear that lastname being announced at the local tracks. Would love to see a younger generation Everhart start in one. I sure hope if his son or any of you guys get in one Ur as successful as Steve was. Im sure if any of you do I will hear about it so I can keep going and watching and I would support you guys the same I did Steve. Every week every track no matter how far away it was.

Likewise, i would like to see one also. Will miss those come from the tail and win races from him. There are still others out there like Nick Dickson, but it means so much more coming from someone you know. Everharts kinda have what it takes to succseed in racing (NO FEAR)no matter what. Steve would risk it all time after time on the last lap trying for the WIN and loose several spots and not one of us cared. He wen't to a race to do just that and for that reason we were his fans. The risk factor was always there, but he wasn't affraid to try. Maybe we could help bring his dreams to a reality. Just sayen !

Stile or blose would be the best bet lol both have consecutive finishes. Although if Steve woulda finished this year off I would bet he would have taken another championship. He had great consecutive finishes all year. I think maybe two races didn't finish in the top five.
