i'd kinda like to see thatHas anyone else seen this kid who is 9 years old driving a late model at Marion Center? Chase Carnahan is his name, I guess he has been racing 4 cylinders this year, and now he is getting a late model? Am I the only one who thinks this is crazy?

Money talks!
It isnt even about money, its just that there is no way his body is ready to sustain an accident in a late model, and not to mention jumping from a 4 cylinder to a late model is nonsense for anybody of an adult age.

I agree with but still all about money. That was only practice i am wondering if a track\ insurance company would really let him run in a real race.Practice is one thing but to put him in a race is insane! It isnt even about money, its just that there is no way his body is ready to sustain an accident in a late model, and not to mention jumping from a 4 cylinder to a late model is nonsense for anybody of an adult age.

9 years old is more like elementary school, like 4th grade maybe? Back in 98 or 99 when the Iceman Series was around (asphalt late model touring series), there was a kid with the last name Kaufman from the state of Indiana running a super late at 11 or 12 in that series in a tour race at Clearfield Mountain Speedway. I think he actually made it to the Busch series for a while in early 2000's.I have 4 boys ages 3 to 13. My oldest won a Gokart championship at age 9 with many wins. And not once has it crossed my mind... Hmmm let's put him in a stock car. I have to much respect in the race teams that bust there asses week after week and spending thier hard working dollar to allow my son to make a mistake and cost them $$$$! I have no problem with them running a class like young guns or a class that is only young drivers.
I was put into the wall a few years back by a under age driver that ended my night in a heat race. I was in skeets car. The young boy drove over his head. He did apologize but that does not fix the car.
Now imagine you have a new rocket chassis and gets destoyed by a child in middle school!
Jmo , I think a age limit needs set. No drivers license , than no racing
