It isnt even about money, its just that there is no way his body is ready to sustain an accident in a late model, and not to mention jumping from a 4 cylinder to a late model is nonsense for anybody of an adult age.
agree totally. this is nonsense. way to young. when he gets hurt badly or hurts someone else badly then we shall see what happens

Sounds like to me that a whole lot of people are afraid of a 9 year old kid kicking there asses on the track, and as far as him getting hurt goes well lets pray that doesnt happen, but if it does then its on the parents heads im sure that they have taken all the precautions they can to ensure that it doesnt happen ie. hans device, butler built seat with halo around his head and belt that will fit a person of his size. Next thing... as far as him hurting somebody else there is 20 or so other cars out there taht can do just as much damage as him. I say let the kid run see what happens ill just bet you will be surprised with the outcome. And for all you haters that think "its all about the money" go f**k yourselves.. if you had the money to build a dirt late model when you were 9 years old you would have. The kid seems like he has talent we should be cheering for this kid not discriminating him. At least he is not like the other youth of america and sitting on his ass playing video games all day, hes out trying to make a name for himself at the greatest sport i know of dirt track racing. GO GET EM CHASE!!! and way to go Marion center and Dog Hollow Speedway for taking a chance and letting the kid prove what hes got.
really? I am pretty sure nobody on here was worried about "getting beat by him" and I dont think any of the Late model drivers at marion center would be worried about losing, but I bet more people would be worried about his safety just like all of us are. Safety equipment can only go so far to what your body can sustain, even the strongest people can still be injured while wearing a HANS device, full containment seat, and the state of the art seat belts and whatnot. And I dont mean to sound like a total stickler, but what stats do you have that backs up he would "kick our asses on the track?" The kid may have talent and nobody has been doubting that, but I dont remember seeing him with any wins in his 4 cylinder, I may be wrong, but before you go calling everyone out, I think it needs proven first.

To reiterate, it's not my kid, so hey, go for it, but you make a good point.
One thing I though about is, where does it stop? Another thought is, I wonder what the tracks' insurance carrier thinks of it.

What in the hell do you think hes trying to do? The only way you are going to see what the kid really has is to let him run with the big boys and get some seat time. Screw the 4 cyl division, all they are is a joke anymore all 6 or 7 cars take the track and who ever has the most money in there car wins it has nothing to do with talent or setup. As far as him getting hurt or hurting anyone else leave that up to the parents its not your place to say weather hes too young to race or not, and as far as that goes with him hurting somebody else there are alot of cars out there that can do the same damage on any given night, like if Cheyanne Reed throws one of his menstrual fits and hit everyone he sees or Jobe just being Jobe (sorry Tom), you cant just say hes gonna hurt somebody simply because of his age, how bout we atart not letting people race because they are too old or too fat or too skinny an old man that cant get out of the car without help is a real hazard to himself in a race car, a fat person cant get out quick enough and has more forward momentum when he hits somebody and a skinny person is too frail and brittle when he gets hit he may brake a bone. Ill be willin to bet you were one of those kids thats mommy would not let go out for the football team cause she was afraid of you getting hurt werent you? and always got a trophy for being on the team, even tho you sat on the bench. All im sayin is give the kid a chance and see how he does hes gonna strat in the back his first couple races im sure to get the feel for the car and racing conditions lets see what happens.really? well im proud of you but im willing to bet you would have started sooner if you could have.lol, if thats how you feel about it then you keep on keepin on with your rose colored glasses buddy. The 4 cylinders werent made as a class to be a big class, they were meant to start people out and and get on the track. You think 4 cylinders are all about money? What do you think happens in a late model class? And you can say someone will get hurt because of their age, because their body is not fully mature and ready to take a hit that could potentially come in a racecar. Like I said before nobody was questioning his skills, just worried about his safety.
And no I never played football, but I have been in a 4 cylinder as well as a Crate Late Model, but was only allowed in the crate late when I was old enough to drive and even then I was at least 18 years of age.

When I grew up, you had to sign a waiver just to get INTO the pits if you were not of age, in fact I snuck in just to watch my dad race. And then you had to be 16 to drive any type of car, it was before young guns and 4 cylinder classes. You are right, every kid wants to be a race car driver when they are little, but it doesnt mean they are ready for it, I know I wasnt ready for it when I was that young.
But once again, to each their own, and good luck to the kid

give me a break a 10 year old child is no way able to comprehend his actions on or off the track let alone have the skill level to handle a late model ,race a class like go karts thats fine these parents are down right wrong to put this child in a late model or for that matter 4 cylenders ,any track that would let him run should be held to the highest liability and be held responsible for any accedents WAKE UP.Chase will be 10 in a week or so. Tyler Clem has raced a modified all year long look his name up on youtube . These kids are awsome eat it up bench warmers. Carry a kid in a hospital because he broke a leg in a football game and he is a hero. A kid gets hurt racing and its just wrong !! GIVE ME A BREAK !!

Ahh what the hell my godson will be 6 next year. Does anyone know where I can get a firesuit and seat that small? He rides pretty fast around the yard on his power wheels. He shows real tallent He could drive a latemodel.
I'm with you, but I'd just buy a booster seat and put him in a Sprint Car.

Exactly the parents will live with the results you said it the other drivers should take into consideration that Chase is out there on his own free will and his parents permission. If he gets into a wreck and gets hurt then thats too bad, but i pray that that does not happen. As a driver as far as feeling bad if i would be the one in the other car that hit him, yes i would feel terrible, but no more than i would if I hurt Jeff Taylor, or Andrew Satterlee, speaking of which how bout we start banning "handicapped" drivers cause their reaction time is dramatically hindered because of an accident they had 15 years ago. I know Andrew personally so before the crazys start coming out of the wood work Andrew is one of the most inspirational people i know and is one of the best drivers i have ever seen wheel a late model im just using him as an example. Stop hating the idea and start helping this kid become one of the guys you cheer for every weekend at MC and DH.........how is another driver going to feel if an incident comes up and the kid gets wrecked and hurt,,its bad enough when its a knowing adult but a 9 yr old kid,,,nah just doesn't seem right,,,now if the parents want to rent the track and let him practice then have at it,,that is entirely their decision,,they will have to live with the results....
PS..... Cheyanne Reed is a douche nozzle!!

I'm not worried about it, jackhole. I'm just making conversation. I could care less if the kid does or doesn't race. You, on the other hand, seem to care way too much about it.
