The 1s of Kyle Shannon will be making the trip, but I'm in need of gears. 5:00 or 5:14 complete or ring and pinion.

Only major rule difference from most tracks is the vac carburetor, which is almost an advantage as slick as it gets... Any chance of allowing 750 mechanical carbs? That may help draw cars.

I was thinking the same thing, allowing mechanical 750's would draw in more cars especially cars up north. I know if they would allow a mechanical 750 I would be more incline to go.

Matt- what do you think about the carbs? A ruling would be nice so the guys know if they should make the haul down? Thanks.

Just make them weigh 3200

agreed..plus the regulars know the track, that alone is going to negate any advantage.

I say bring it on and lets rock an roll, the more the merrier.

Vince ,
You can let any carbs race you want, just make it clear before the event for me to give to our tech guys. The goal is to let everyone race the Ed Laboon 17.

I favor our carb, but it's your call, are you teching too?

If its our carb we know the rule, if you wantto let any carb in I can live with that, it's your call!

Not to mention, you will have guys wrecking to win! I am starting to rethink this...
lol

im not a driver, but i am a uncontseted fan i agree 100% with a payout as large as this race theres def gonna be "balls to the wall" driving/drivers,maybe time trials should be a factor with a field so largely anticipated, for the sake to "weed out"the less expierenced drivers...JMO

you won't get too far with the time trials concept, around here. PPMS and UFO use pill draw format usually. The "Bolts of Woe" will weed out the less experienced, trust me... lol

Matt, I discussed this with some drivers and motor guys and we agree to let the mechanical 750's run if the cars weigh 3200 lbs. It is a competitive advantage but we feel the weight and warmer than normal weather will even things out. So please let your tech guys know. Also, if you need help with the cars I have a few guys lined up to assist, let me know Saturday if we get a ton of cars and you need help. I agree it makes sense to do a tech inspection before hot laps so there are no surprises for the drivers. So spread the word teams- mechanical 750's and 3200# are a go. Unapproved nose pieces and other minor rule variations per the PPMS tech teams will be assigned a 50# weight penalty at their discretion. Thanks. Vince

So to clarify...pit entry is $30, for a memorial race that Vince collected over $3000 for during a sad time of personal loss? Does the extra $5 per person go toward a donation to the American Cancer Society in the name of the Race Teams of PPMS? If it does, all of us who have lost a family member to Cancer are extremely appreciative.

The extra $5 went towards making it a Sportsman Showdown event- ie making it $700 to win and $100 to start. The money I raised made it $1017 and padded the purse throughout. Matt stepped up and made this happen along with the other fans and sponsors. Vince

Its great to see everyone working together on an event that was put together in such little time. I hope we get a ton of cars. Everyone involved has done a great job to make this event memorable.
