in all reality no big name will be there. other than miley, satterlee, barbara, geisler, ferree who other than one of those cars will win?? covert and jeremy miller and jamie lathroum wont even be there. they will be at lucas race at VMS. and lynch in sprints will win be half a lap. save money and go to stampede. never thought i would say world racing group is better option but it is. on cheap side 40 dollars a head. multiply be say 5 or 6 thousand fans. equal nice sized pocket money for PPMS. throw in pit passes, food, beer. be nice deposit at bank monday morning. i am all about supporting local tracks. but getting overpriced it is. why are super lates and pro lates being charged entry fee. and sprints and sportsman not?? charge your bread and butter and others scoot for free. it all makes sense.

Dont count out Norris, Burgoon, Baker, Flinner and possibly Beck. Anything can happen and it usually does.
With the track prep being done by someone other than the Underwoods, who knows what will happen.
With highs in the 70s and lows in the low 50s all next week, who knows what the track is going to be like. So hold your horses on your predictions anything can happen! 30-40 Lates.

Tommy Beck looked real quick in last week's fast laps. Good to see him getting back to his old form.

Flinner got fired. Burgoon has sucked all year, Norris is fast until he puts himself into the wall, Baker has been good only when starting up front, Tommy Beck has good runs here in there or until something breaks, Davey Johnson will do his usual few laps and if he isnt up front will call it a night and start drinking beer, Now on to keith barbara, greg satterlee, and jared miley are the ones that have a legit shot at winning.

Thanks for the economics lesson. The pits are $70 for a 2 day. If you are not attending the event due to price, it does exceed your price point, price has driven you away. Price drives all of us away from various things. I won't spend a hundred bucks to go to the opera, I will to go to a race. Someone skipping the races may go spend more than that on a fancy dinner, to each his own. Lowering price is not a guarantee of increasing profits, there are many variables. Your opinion is it would and we respect that. We do have the advantage of having the actual numbers for the last 23 PPMS seasons.

Maybe big regional events are becoming a thing of the past. Do folks really think racetracks are making a fortune? If so, why are the ones that have closed not being reopened by the next person that wants to make a fortune? Some have been, and they are closed again.

Here is the reality of it, it does cost a lot to put on the show, and a lot to attend it, and racing is expensive, but on the stud it gets blown way out of proportion. Someone said about 10,000 posts earlier (it's $10,000 to win by the way) how do you know what the show is worth before its run?

The combination of a $10,000 to win Super Late, $3000 to win Sprint, $3000 to win BRP, $2000 to win Crate, $1000 to win Sportsman has never been done at PPMS. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME!

Would you pay $35 for the pits and $22.50 for the grandstands for a $5000 to win Super Late, $1500 to win Sprint, $1500 to win BRP, $1000 to win Crate, and $500 to win Sportman Show? If so double everything and you have the 2012 Five Star Pittsburgher!

Some regional race teams are going to experience the biggest win of their season and perhaps their career at the 24th consecutive running of the Pittsburgher!...with some fan support they will get to do it all over again in 2013! The beauty of this event is it provides an opportunity for the best of the best regional racers we watch week in and week out to duke it out and haul away all the loot! It feeds our weekly racing fix!

Think it all the way through! It benefits regional racing...and yes it needs to benefit the Speedway, so we can do it all over again next year at the Monster Playground!

WHAT ABOUT THE $30,000 BART HARTMAN WON A CPL YRS BACK THAT WAS THE ULTIMATE VS THE PITTSBURGHER I BELIEVE
...TO WIN BOTH RACES THERE WAS A $10,000 BONUS... ALSO DREW IN ALOT MORE CARS,WILL THAT EVER BE AN RACE OPTION AGAIN?

im taking jonny huck or josh richards for the $10,000. i have never paid $70 at eldora, charlotte, pennsboro, challenger, lernerville or any other place to watch the best of the best race on dirt. I will gladly follow updates from those that are there and wish good luck to those teams that race this year.

No, no, no...this is a race for regional racers. Everybody has to pay high prices so that a local racer can cash in. Somebody better let Covert know before he tows all the way there.

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.
