Armbands are good for the next couple of weeks, but what if you were one of the people that came with the 22 Patriot Cars? Armbands aren't any good to us, unless we use them to wrap our bubble gum in for throwaway...

I'm not complaining because it rained, that's just part of the deal, but they could have brought us back for our feature in the next two weeks...not sure if that was discussed or not...

Racer 111 with all due respect you have identified yourself as an asphalt race fan many times in the past on Racestud but never as a Patriot sprint car owner or driver. Your previous posts suggest just the opposite. Let me share a couple.

In July you posted the following comment "If dirt is so great then I think you people should get together and get in touch with Bruton Smith, have him haul dirt and cover up all of the tracks under his control, I bet that will really up attendance at those tracks...I'm sure it will..."

And you also wrote this opinion in July "Go South, Northern Rednecks...take in an event at Bowman Gray Stadium or Concord, or Peach State or Braselton...class acts...lots of people??? You better believe it, and I have been told by many people that Lake Erie is getting 5000+ people every week...I don't care if they are giving away tickets or not, they are getting people and those people buy food, and they come back... Go South and you will find asphalt is KING...

Now maybe you bought a car specifically for Saturday to race Patriot Sprints. I guess it could happen, but then you would not be on here speculating about the value of your armband and trying to stir up trouble. If you actually are a Patriot Sprint Car driver or owner you know about the meeting held with the Mercer officials Saturday. You would know exactly what discussed and how it affects your bubble gum wrapper.

The fact is a meeting was held with the Patriot Sprints and an agreement was reached that satisified both parties and gives our local fans a chance to use their rain check for any one of the next two weeks. There is no reasaon to post the details on here as the parties who clearly identified themselves and were affected by the decision know exactly what was discussed and agreed to.

Beyondo sez. We all want Mercer to succeed. Next year no bike races on nights when traveling groups are there. Period. There may be a rain date for the bike races, but it will not occur on a night when travelers are scheduled. When admission prices are increased for outside groups, those outside groups will run first. When admission prices are increased for a local division special, they also will run first.

PAstate, you clearly did not drive 10 hours to race. Otherwise, you would be very upset to spend $4 gallon gas to racefor nothing cuz the kids bike races were more important. Come on now.

I agree with you but if i had to drive 10 hrs and there was a chance a rain I would have found a closer track to run at. I talked to a few of the 360 guys and most where NY,OH and PA. And you cant blame the track for taking care of there fans with the bike races for the kids that was rained at once before.

So out of all the people complaining on here about Mercer Saturday night, you decide to jump on me, because of a comment about arm bands? Really? ...Also if you look through the post you will see that I said, "I didn't know if it was discussed or not." I didn't go to the drivers meeting because I was busy doing other things...

Now as far as defending the asphalt, sure I defend the asphalt, if you recall what that post was about it was because everyone was on here running down the Bainey family, and how they should do this and do that... even to the point of people saying that they hoped the track closed because it was now asphalt...that should not even have been brought up in the context of speaking about Mercer, it had absolutely nothing to do with it...nothing...

For your information I am a fan of all racing, they all have their place in this world.

And also for your information I have spent many hundreds of dollars attending events at Mercer Raceway Park, many hundreds...

So I'm trying to stir up trouble with a comment about armbands, when there were how many other people on here, actually trying to stir up trouble...in reality I don't even care...but for some unknown reason you decided to pick me out of the crowd...

All I said was that possibly the Patriots could have been brought back in the next two weekends to run their feature...I wasn't even upset about not coming back...it was just a thought...nothing more nothing less...

I think they made the right call. Not too many young people attending races anymore. Give them a bad taste and they will find other things to do. What night exactly do you want them to reschedule 360"s? Too much rescheduled for this week. The 15th is pulling event and 21-22 is Little Guy Nationals.

There was no way the Patriots could have been rescheduled. Sunday night at Eriez was the last points race and championship for the American tour.

You are so off base. Bill Altman has proven to be a great owner. He takes basically the same approach as Don Martin used to take. He hires people he believes in and lets us do our job. He is as accessible as any track owner in the game today. He does not hide from anyone!.
