Hell, Heidelberg and the Pittsburgh Racing Assoc. use to charge for parking and that was back in the 50's-60's and early 70's. It was .25 cents, but then it was around $2-4 to get in the stands and $5-6 for pit fees, (you did have to join the PRA to get in the pits back then, which also was $5.00, but it went to the point fund).
If a car got damaged in the parking lot, Ed had it fixed. Association fees that really did go into a point fund! Ladies passes for the drivers wives. (no women in the pits back then)
As far as today goes, like the old days, bring the coke/pepsi/popcorn/hot dogs etc. into the stands at a more reasonable price, so that the fans don't have to leave their seat unless they choose to. (Btw, Eldora had very reasonably priced food, even for the World 100) No driver should ever have to pay to race. A free pit pass to every driver would draw more cars for the most part.
