Woow....jr. seemed to have alot to say after the race, this concussion thing is really taking it's toll.......they really need to get a grasp on these so called "PLATE" races, the idea was when they needed to slow the cars down to make them safer seems all they did was make the racing like an "ENDURO".......which is VERY UNSAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Racing; A disease which there isn't any cure!

Nah, he's already 51 points back and chances of winning the championship is pretty slim, this is Hendrick's way of telling NASCAR to do something about plate racing. In other words, 'If plate racing continues the way it is, we could lose 'stars', aka: ticket sellers and sponsor getters, due to injury from these ridiculous crashes that happen during plate races.' if NASCAR looks at it as a way they could potentially LOSE MONEY...they may do something. Now they have upset Jr. fans that won't get to see their favorite driver and a few upset sponsors because with a replacement driver, the car has a better chance of running in the back and not being seen as much. 'Star' drivers missing races to injury = loss of money to NASCAR. They won't like that...

Nascar has a hard enough time filling the stands. Nascar has created a monster with plate races. Stands are pretty full for those races. And probably more people watch on t.v the race longer than any other race. What percentage of fans do you lose if it becomes just another race?

Stands are not full, especially the most recent race.

[NASCAR's estimated crowd of 88,000 was the smallest since figures have been provided, and was down by 20,000 from the previous low of 108,000 in May, and coming at a track that used to pull in more than 300,000 people for its two annual events.]

I also heard that they have been painting the stands to make them look less empty and some of the stands from MIS were moved to Toledo.

Nascar is on a serious downhill slide. Wish open wheel (Indy car) racing was better positioned to displace these over regulated dinosaurs and their P/C drivers.

apparently, Jr go a concussion when he wrecked at Kansas a few weeks ago during the tire test. Then he felt better and the wreck at Dega took him out.

Ol' Abe's prediction: Junior's normal finishing position at Charlotte and Kansas and Regan Smith's actual finishing position in the 88 for the next two weeks will be roughly the same.

Who wants an autograph?

I'll second Abe's prediction. Regan Smith is better than most people think, and I think he'll do as well in the 88 as Junior would have done in it these next 2 races.

NASCAR decided to ignore the real hardcore racing fans to get the country club fans who thought racing was " cool" at the time. Once the " cool" wore off those guys all left and the hardcore fans were already gone hence the half full grandstands. Same mistake mma is making now.

If it's so popular, how come it's playing to less than half full crowds? How come ratings are down? How come established drivers can't find sponsorship?

Big Bill is rolling in his grave. The current folks in charge don't give a rat's ass about the actual racing. If they are truly to "fix" NASCAR, they have to fix the racing.

Is this your observation from the NASCAR races you have attended over the past few years? Didn't think so!
