I was thinking about it an if anything all of his carnival barking caused a lower car count !!! Who wants to drive 3 to 6 hours one way for a pill draw show with 90 cars ??? Had people known there was only 42 I bet 15 or 20 more cars might have came !!

BINGO we have a winner!!!!!

I will take 100% responsibility for the pre-entry list. It was made as easy as possible for the drivers to pre-enter, definitely too easy. Entry forms were accepted that were completed at the track at our previous races, through the mail or call in entries. We only required that they put their name, number and signature on the entry blank to keep it simple. Every driver either signed an entry form or called in, except 2 late entries that asked ULMS as Sharon to be pre-entered (neither of them showed). No driver was entered by simply showing it on their website. Hubbard is not on the pre-entry list. If anyone would like to see the entry blanks or to discuss anything, please call me at 614-531-0653. A few drivers were removed from the list when it was certain they were not racing any more this season. Some others that had full intentions of coming such as Devin Freise and Jeremy Miller lost equipment in the last couple of weeks. The drivers that "didn't know" the pre-entered forgot that they registered at the track. There were several drivers that registered at the track that also mailed in entry blanks. And you are probably right. Publishing the pre-entry list with a large number of drivers may have kept some from coming. Friese pre-paid his entry fee and it is being refunded. That is just how Hesston works. Hesston is one of the few tracks that offers customers refunds for 30 days after a rainout. We have the same policy with pre-paid entry fees, so that is why we did not require pre-payment of the entry fee until showing up at the race. To make it easier on the teams and to avoid the hassle of refund checks. Unfortunately, a lot of entries were completed too early just in case they decided to come to the race and they would save the $100. There should not be pre-registration on this race again. It was done for the fan's benefit, but obviously didn't work right and is more hassle than it is worth. The track definitely did give way about 25 laps into the Super LM feature. It didn't lock down to one lane of rubber, as it was the same color from top to bottom. But most of the racing went to the bottom. This was Hesston's 1st multi-day show, so track prep needs to be adjusted on the last day to be sure the cushion is on the top like it had on Friday. As far as the 4-wheeler incident, this is the kind of crap that shut Challenger down. No offical was witness and no neutral witness would come forward to Dave to tell exactly what happened, and the 2 race teams involved gave conflicting stories of course. One said it was an accident and the other on purpose. If neutral witnesses would have come forward the race team would have been ejected for the entire event. We talked to 1 team beside the incident and they said they were under their car and did not see what happened and others were questioned and nothing could be determined for certain. But if it truely was intentional, that is as disgusting as the accident that closed Challenger. The track tried to give the race teams the courtesy of using 4-wheelers at this race, they should not be allowed again. 27 Super Lates started Friday's show and 28 started Saturday despite advertising 26 would start at that car count. This year's race paid out over $25,000 more to the race teams than the scheduled 2-day payoff from last year. A lot of work was done to make sure there would be enough pit and specator parking to avoid the backups and parking problems. The outer pits were expanded 1 row, part of the parking lot was temporarily marked off for pits and another field was made available for spectator parking. Hesston can handle about 60 more race teams than were present last weekend (there were about 150 each night) plus room for The full story results were sent out a couple hours ago and the quick results were posted to these boards and the website yesterday. I made sure the quick results were posted before i left Hesston on Sunday. They took about 6 hours to compile correctly, added to a 6 hour drive home to Ohio yesterday and no internet access until this morning once I left Hesston due to a computer crash. There is no financial benefit in promoting these events to myself. What i get paid bascially covers the mileage and fuel of the 600 mile trek to Hesston each race, plus visits to other tracks to promote the events. That was my choice. Donation of time and energy would probably be much better spent working for a worthwhile charity in the future. Thanks to all that attended. Everyone involved appreciates everyone that came out in the freezing cold on Friday and the large number of people that came on Saturday. The intentions are in the right place to pay more the drivers and give the fans great racing. Some things definitely didn't go as planned. Some went better than expected. Thanks

In all honesty, what did you really think would happen when you posted that entry list? You had too have known that no way 83 cars would attend but you still insisted on headlining forum posts saying that 83 cars would be there. Lots of people we talked too called BS on it when the list came out, but I for one was a sucker who thought no way in hell a guy would have this kind of stones too post this if he was 100% sure he would get close. Then in turn, egg goes on the face of Dave Eriksen, for something you did that most people in this world would consider false advertising. But you come on here putting your spin on it that you did drivers a favor? I'm sure lots of drivers are happy that there name was posted too something that they didn't pay too commit too, yet there fans may have went there being told something else.

40-60 cars was a realistic expectation, and what you got Friday was a damn good starting field. But your over the top way of handling these things comes out tasting bad.

One of your nights needs too be time trial driven and the lower paying night can be a pill draw format. Everyone is happy that way. Call it the Raystown 100, and buy ad banners on websites, set the pay, and shut up. If you want a tradition, it has too grow organically.

As far as the four wheeler incident, you dropped the ball on that, you throw the team out, and set a precedent that stuff like that wont go on.

I guess enforcing discipline at a race track is like rape under sharia law where a woman needs 5 males witnesses all willing to testify or she is stoned to death for adultry !!!. Rcae tracks really need to get these bullshit pit related incidents under control before something bad happens ....

i've got to say. didn't make it for the friday show, but i made it for the saturday show and i was quite impressed with the facility. it seems like a no non-sense place, for the most part it was clean racing, sure it was 1 lane in the late model features and cadets. but there was alot of laps on that track. just from being there i could see there is a couple things they could do to improve racing lines and things of that nature but what track doesn't have something to improve on? all in all, i enjoyed myself and i can't say that about almost any race this year i have been to at other places.
