Chuck, is there going to be any time allotted to 'Guest' Classes? I would assume Jeff plans on running several Sprintcar shows and he's shown interest in running our Vintage Modifieds 2 or 3 times next year and I assume he would look at other Classes. Is there a tentative Schedule for 2013?A.M.P. is proud to announce their first meet and greet for all interested drivers and owners on Nov.11th.2012 at the Curwensville Moose Lodge at 945 Bailer Rd. Curwensville,Pa. {814 236 1150.The Moose will have their bar open and will be selling beverages and sandwiches.Topic of discussion will be the up and coming season, class rules and also meet the new staff at A.M.P. After talking with many steel block and aluminum motor late models we have decided to combine the two classes with a weight rule added. Also we will be introducing a new limited late model class. We will be holding our meetings by class.
Following is our scheduled times:
12:00 PM Front Wheel Drive 4 Cylinder
1:00 PM Pure Stock
2:00 PM Street Stock
3:00 PM Late Model & Limited Late Model
We hope all interested race teams can attend.Thank You,from the staff at A.M.P.

Doesn't the melting pot need to be in the limited latemodel division and not the Super late division??? This has been tried by several other area promotors(Jim Michney Dog Hollow) and not been sucessful! Mixing Steel Blocks....Crates....and specs with Supers just cuts down on the amount of Supers, and others you will get! I personally know serval Super drivers that like your speedway and would support a weekly Super show there! Its real easy to seperate the two classes! Super needs to be an Aluminum engine car only! Limited can be an open motor, alumiunm head/ steel block.....a 358 spec motor....a 358 steel block bandit car.... a 604 crate car.... all with appropriate weight breaks! You will get moore cars iif you seperate the divisions this way! Because the Super guys tend to not like to race with the other divisions.... and will not support your track! So you would be be better to just go Limited if going to allow everything to race! Alot of limited guys don't like to race with the supers also....because they feel they can't beat them! But what your going to be able to pay will also dictate who and what you get for the division also! Just my .02! Good luck to you guys next season

I believe he is combining super lates with steelblocks. I would think that the steelblocks will get a weight break but that will be discussed at the meeting I would guess.whats the difference between the late model class and the limited late model class?

limited late models are Late model chassis, that run steel blocks. hummingbird used to call them limited late models. at first jeff will get more "limited" late models than Supers. but as long as a track around here is running them, eventually more guys will run supers.limited- lates are what were at one time called street -stocks or hobby stocks at least that is what Bedford call theirs , just a guess is all .probably a class of street-stocks with wide open rules.

did you notice the condition of the cars that race in that area ?? I highly doubt anyone with top flight stuff that isn't beat to death is coming there for the demo derby those guys call racingJust my opinion, but the only thing limited on the "limited" late models in this area is the fact that they are limited to a steel block engine. There are teams that run against, and have won against super lates at various smaller tracks. Even the 358 limited late classes east and south of here have had wins against supers. I think the thing that hurt the other tracks that combined the "limiteds" and "supers" was the fact they wanted to pay a limited purse and that drove away the super late teams. The steel block lates in this area are more than capable of competing with the super lates on a track the size of AMP. If the payout is good, I think there will be a good mix of both steel blocks and super lates.
To me, a true limited late model class would be a late model chassis, late model body, with a spec shock, hard tire, spec 2bbl carb, with the teams choice of either a 602 crate or a spec built engine.
Personally, I would make the street stock rules the same engine and carb package as the limiteds, with a stock frame and 8" tires. Then if a team wants to move up to the limited lates, they already have the engine and carb.. Then, if they want to move from there to the late model class, they already have the car.

Thats your opinion and you are entitled to express it. Incredible, no one has turned a wheel on this track for 5 or 6 years, yet you know what the racing is like! Its just a shame that where someone has busted his arse for 18 months and put up a lot of $$$$$ to rebuild a track from a serious state of decay, people like you just cant have something positive to say about anything.did you notice the condition of the cars that race in that area ?? I was not saying anything bad about the track. I was talking about how crude the " late model" type cars from that area tend to be ... That's allThats your opinion and you are entitled to express it.
