The news ain't about serving the f---ing public and hasn't been for decades. It is strictly about getting ratings to keep the stockholders fat and happy, and the public service bullshit is strictly going through the motions. They sensationalize everything, which is not good for racing either locally or nationally, and racing does not have enough stroke to make the news play fair, so racing is pretty much screwed whenever anything bad happens at a race. Drives a lot of us nuts, but what can you do?
