so much for the open tire rules.. :huh: NDRL officials would also like to announce the tire rule for the first two events at Paducah International Raceway and Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55. The UMP tire rule featuring the Hoosier Tire compounds of LM20, LM30, and LM40 will be in effect for both events. This and all tire rules at NDRL events will be strictly enforced and tire testing will be implemented at the discretion of NDRL officials.

Wow it didn't take long for them to bow to the almighty purple monster. Changing rules before they even run a race..... :rolleyes:

12.17 For the 2013 National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) racing season, an open tire rule is in effect, provided, the tires meet the 2013 National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) Specifications, unless otherwise specified prior to events.

PIR and I-55 are UMP tire tracks and they are using UMP Tire rules, big shocker there.

It's amazing to me that people can't wrap their head around such things. It's not nearly as big of deal as they make it.

The ump tires are stupid expensive ... I don't see the point of the local racers subsidizing the point funds of the guys who run ump nationally

You're not wrong, but it is what it is. Those tracks want you to run those tires, you have to run those tires.
