Is Tony Stewart interested in purchasing? Heard he was up there years ago and looked at the place. Maybe he can get a better deal if he buys it and Jennerstown together and starts some kind of training facility for the many younger drivers that need asphalt experience coming from the dirt tracks. What say you?

That track has been a clusterf*ck for just about it's entire existence. This shouldn't be a surprise.

Great facility going to waste, but who cares about the ass-phalt - we have dirt track racing just down the road at Americas Motorsports Park and thats the main thing. Dingo

Like I said on the other Motordrome post.....Hard to promote a track when there is no interest in that kind of racing! No surprise here!

i don't know if they would sale it to someone who wants to turn it back to dirt but what needs done is just tear the asphalt off completely instead of just burying it and that would solve a lot of issues....

there was nothing wrong with the clay that was under the asphalt so you are right just peel off the black top and you have a race ready track .wouldn't it be nice to see someone just open it for specials as a dirt track and have the yankee doodle race and maybe some outlaw sprints and latemodels do a big show there ?there isn't a bad seat in the house .i went to their website and read that their races this past year had the largest crowd ever at the track but the last race was the day of the a.m.p practice and i can tell you there were more people at practice than at that last race and the yankee doodle race that jerry redden won( when it was dirt ) was standing room only and the hill was so packed i had to park outside the gait . what a waste of a good race track, hope i win the lottery .

IT was the largest crowd ever at the speedway for THAT EVENT. Not saying the largest crowd ever at the track in general.
Take the blacktop off put some new clay on it run 3 or 4 Specials and the place will be packed again.

As soon as I heard they were going back to pavement, I knew it would be a failure. People tried to tell them that it was a bad move but they did it anyways. If the new buyer puts clay back down and lets it at 5/8 ,it will be a huge success and the place will draw a big crowd. I hope the new owner has some big pockets so he can run the track the way it should be run. ;)

Who can remember the good ol days when this guy ripped around the big 5/8 th mile track taking many feature wins. I can remember after getting my drivers license, my first trip was over the mountain to watch Bob wearing run the NO 1. ;)

I went there in 1970 when it was called Mt.Zion. A racing reporter said with it opening , Lernerville was on shaky ground. Clearfield just needs someone to pave Lernerville and then they can go back to dirt and call it Mt. Zion. I'll be there. But hurry up. I'm getting old.

someone needs to put dirt back on it or take the pavement off. whether it be like it was the last few years, or a 5/8 mile like it used to be. hold some specials every year. no need for a full season at a place like that. every special over the last few years when it was dirt was jam packed with alot of big names from all over. whether they paid them extra to show up or not, they brought a pile of people in. taking the dirt off was a terrible idea.
