If the tech guy lets the car roll up on the track, why are you second guessing them? I looked at the SS pictures, and quite honestly how can you tell what is a SS and what is a PS? Alot of different looking cars in that class, and some look like LM's... That piece of tin will NOT effect a car on the small of a track.

if you read the rules that panel is completely legal, on a heavy track the mud will tear the rivets loose.

i don't give a shit who won, i like the street stocks period, i was just asking about a rule...every other car there that came from a different track had it done but him...

it was enclosed. its sheet aluminum, holes tear, things vibrate loose, its a racecar. clearly theres a piece of aluminum there, and either way on a track that small it makes no difference if its enclosed or not.

I know that a lot of people on here get a kick out of ragging on Dingo and Suhoney but there were quite a few fans around me the other night that was wondering why the modifieds were dropped at the track and the reason for it was there were none around anymore and the guys were tired of trying to beat Mike Stine and a few of the others that had big hammer motors . i don't know for sure how many cars other tracks are getting but i am another one that liked the modifieds and i think if you announced you were going to run them for sure next year you might get some interest now i know what half of you are thinking there would be to many classes then and the show would be too long...so why not do this figure out a way to combine the street stocks and the pure stocks because neither class is drawing full fields even with Marion center and Hummingbird raining out there still was not a full field in either class .maybe combine the 2 classes some way because the pure stocks are already allowed headers and as for tires if you are going to run on 8 inch tires give that car a weight break . i am sure we could get the 2 classes together for a meeting this fall and come up with a set of rules that would make everyone happy and have fuller classes of cars .

I liked the mods when they ran at Gamblers, and I can remember nights when there were more mods than there were late models. The problem I see now, is the same problem that everyone brings up about the asphalt track. There just aren't many of those cars in the general area anymore. When Gamblers closed, there were still several local tracks running some form of late models, but there were no other local tracks running modifieds. I know they didn't get much interest from the mod teams when they were discussing what divisions they were going to run. Maybe an option would be to find a night or two when Mercer wasn't running the mods and see if there is any interest from those teams for a special. As for the field sizes, I thought the car counts last week were good. Any more than 15 cars on that track is usually a crash fest till the field gets whittled down some anyway.

They teched every car for the required safety components opening night and they checked the suspension and body specs of the semi's I am not sure about the rest. The tech man has the authority and support. I think he looks at something every race night.

When are they going to TECH ??

A 358 show might pull in a few cars, but the IMCA class would be a better fit.

I have a brand new Troyer SLR in my garage. I'd love to have a local reason to complete it. Then again, IMCA mods would be sweet, except for having to build them. Really though, you can't beat the semi-late class at AMP. Affordable, chassis car, good experience builder... And if you think about it, a good semi-late can go compete at many other tracks with moderate success. If you go with your small engine, standard shock car and do well, then you can think about moving up. ramey

I believe that a lot of guys don't want to run all over the state for a trophy and that is no dig at what dingo is doing that is just my opinion. like Mister Suhoney said there is a fan base here for these modifieds . i for one would like to see them even if it were every other week make a set of rules and stick to them and let guys use caviliers and grand am bodies or what ever you can find in a junk yard that is what they did in the old days . if you start a class and tell the drivers you will stick with them like you are doing with the semi- latemodels you might be suprised as to hoew many cars you get 15 or 18 cars on that track would be fine . ..... as for the legend it is starting to scare me a little that you have such a crush on Suhoney . if i told you once i told you a thousand times suhoney is a dude not a chick.suhoney is a last name not a first .

Front wheel drives where supposed to be junk classes out of the junk yards. They started those on the pave track at clearfield and got over a hundred i think the first night...or close too it. they dwindle down now because they let them lock the front ends up, put on cool air intakes, etc etc. they let them get out of hand. this is an example of where tech needs to step in as well. If you make that class nothing but stock...youll find more coming to the track. now to be competative in that class you got to do some work to the car. that is, if anything, THE entry level/fun class to be in, or it should be. limited work should be necessary to maintain the car but other than that, put gas in and go. they need to fix that....or that class will end up just like the REAR wheel mustangs, EXTINCT!!
