He's been told numerous times that the ridge/curb in the middle groove of the corners needs to go. And its not just the crate guys that think the ridge creates a situation where it's very difficult to pass. It has been a problem for 2 or 3 years. They were supposed to fix it in the winter and it wasn't addressed,If you put less water on the track for heats then everyone would bitch about a dry slick dust bowl. The crates are mostly a nose to tail race not matter where they go. You have some drivers that know how to pass and others that just fall in line. But I know if you have the key to make the track better then you should go and talk to Dave when he is out there most of the week working on it.

i've held my tongue long enough on this place. matt likes it for some reason, i hate the place.. heats are everything, and i haven't seen 5 passes all year in the crates. all year....... the place makes terrible drivers, good.....just keep it in the bowl and hammer down...... if you push, or are loose you still can't pass anybody. this goes for all divisions but modifieds, they somehow put on a great show each week. big blocks look just like us. we use only half the track, as stated above. put that bowl up to the wall like tyler speedway, and give us some room to race, and maybe clay on that sand box....the counts are dropping bigtime there, and not just in crates. and to mr. wilson, i wouldn't go beating my chest how great you are racing this track......saw you at 7 hit every car on the track, and get chased to the pits by a driver on foot. you've started 3rd or better every week dude, and on the pole 3 times....one trick pony....He's been told numerous times that the ridge/curb in the middle groove of the corners needs to go. Exactly what I was trying to say. There's a hump and then it levels off and if you get over that you're in no mans land. But if you run right around the hump nobody is gonna pass you. A few weeks back we ran 3rd for the whole race until about 3 to go on 6 cylinders because he was hitting the line good and nobody could clear on either side. The track itself needs reshaped, the banking levels off too much at the the top of the track.

Seems to me like the guy who crossed the finish line first won......isn't that the point of racing? To beat the rest of the guys you're racing? Nice job Mr. Wilson!! You drove a great race man.
And why do you insist on crying about EVERYTHING..... ALL of the time rad? Seems like all you do is whine and cry and complain.
****Edit....Sorry I didn't congratulate the other winners....my bad. But according to Scott, you really didn't do anything anyway. It only counts if his car wins......

Thought you were in love with Sharon when they brought the crates in? Thought they would average 30 cars per week?

More like 18 feet from the wall, and I haven't talked to any drivers who haven't said the lip is a problem.
It's NO WHERE close to 18'. It's just a car width wide. And it was put there intentionally........for the sprint cars. Ask me how I know?
Sharon is a dump. Plain and simple. Well, the facility is awesome really. Just the track and management are dumpy. If you know the right people over there, you can get away with murder. Almost literally...... If you know the right people over there, you have your own set of rules. They NEED to get someone who knows how to run a racetrack that isn't affiliated with ANY of the cars or divisions that are running over there to have some good old fashioned unbiased officiating!
And Big, I couldn't agree more. It's the same track for everyone. Set your car up and race it. You hit the nail on the head with that one!!!

What do you do, stupid? Are you the only one allowed to have an opinion? Did you even read my posts or are you just assuming its someone bashing your beloved Sharon Speedway? The track has been the same for 3 years and every driver, crew member, fan, official, and anyone else can see it. Except for you, that is.Hotdog Have you been on the track or are you one that sits in the stands and bitches about it. Rad is just having a hard time because they havent got what it takes to over come the track.

The hump is right in the middle of the track. Its way more then a car width away from the fence. You're right, it's the same for everybody. But I really do like the place and want it to do well, and guys aren't gonna race somewhere you can't pass. It's more then just a setup issue. The car counts recently show how people feel about it.It's NO WHERE close to 18'. It's just a car width wide. And it was put there intentionally........for the sprint cars. Ask me how I know?

the lip is right in the middle of 1 and two, leaving alot of racetrack unused. and a definate prefered line. to top it off the bottom of the track is banked the wrong way . the racers that like it are the ones that know if you start up front you got a better than average chance to finish there. the fans that like it , like it when a little slower car starts up front and it jams the field up, with a car racin its but off on the bottom to no avail. sharon has always been a favorite place for many including me . but the fun meter is droppin fast for many, avident by the car count. i for one sure hope something changes , i dont want my last years of racing to end like this. now i know its hard to convey my true feelings by way of the written word . not trying to bash or offend someone, just puttin in the 2 cents hoping .The hoffend someoneump is right in the middle of the track. Its way more then a car width away from the fence. You're right, it's the same for everybody. But I really do likusede the place and want it to do well, and guys aren't gonna race somewhere you can't pass. It's more then just a setup issue. The car counts reup front cently show how people feel about it.
