Who makes the fuel that's been banned, and what is it called?
![]()
Whats in it that makes it so expensive?![]()
Does it have a distinctive smell?
Definitely a good move on FASTRAK's part, seems there is always something coming up attempting to make this division expensive and give higher $ teams an advantage, policeing this will take diligent inspection of ALL competitors.

It is the CHP Blend. They had a similar gas that was used when we raced karts that would meet the octane rating but was more oxidized and provided additional power on they dyno as well as lower tempatures. That was priced at $27 a gallon back in 2009 but it had a distinctive color so it could be noticed fairly easily.

Isn't VP a FASTRAK series sponsor?
![]()
I've never paid anywhere near that for good open late model fuel, EVER!
Is it really selling for $35/gal?
Well one thing you have to remember to is these motors are running on such limited compression compared to a open motor or even for that fact the old limited late model engines. So these oxidized fuels like this are formulated for lower compression engines to get power through the narrower power band as well as being more consistent than pump gas. Like I said before when we raced karts, we were using pump gas and the biggest issue was using the new E-10 gasoline. We would have issues with water contamination between various stations. Fuels like this are much more consistent as well meaning that your going to get the same performance.

If another series announced a "STRONG STANCE" on this issue first, should they be upset with you for not doing it? You mention being the first and best series but seem irritated to be the one to pioneer this rule, which is conflicting.FASTRAK Companies International Takes STRONG STANCE against Exotic Fuels
**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE** June 12th, 2013 FASTRAK PR
(Carnesville, Georgia) – "I’m tired of it said series" Founder Stan Lester. "That’s pretty simple. This $35 a gallon fuel going on in this series. Every series knows it’s happening, but once again we will take the lead on doing something about it. They can copy us like they usually do when we finish".
"We are going to catch you period. This series was created to lower the cost of racing and $35 a gallon fuel is putting people out of racing once again. We tried the honor system and that didn't work so now we are going after people that are using it. We will significantly increase fines and let them have a little time off from the series".
"We have been doing a significant amount of testing with different meters, kits, etc. If we have too, we will come up with a specific gravity number. We will do whatever it takes to stop this and sooner than later
I see a specific gravity number of 750 in the rules. Does this fuel not conform? Or is that rule newer than this press release?
I guess I just don't understand the defensive tone of the press release. The threats and negative connotations don't seem necessary to establish and enforce a rule.

The VP CHP is crate fuel and yes VP is a series sponsor. NO it does not cost $35 per gallon. NO it is not exotic and NO VP CHP is not the fuel that has been termed as "exotic" and VP CHP has not been banned.
So what is the $35/gal fuel?

Your right on this one scruffy .. he sounds mad and revengefull ... just like Nascar ! thats why his series has the best reputation for rules .He has several documented cases of guys from other series ( and in his own) that think they can bring their illegal stuff over and race with him .. The motors were a nightmare a couple years ago for example. but after a couple 50K fines to motor builders etc .. I guess they are cheatin in the gastank now lol .Always gonna be somethinIf another series announced a "STRONG STANCE" on this issue first, should they be upset with you for not doing it? FASTRAK specific gravity rule is 750 MAXIMUM------really not sure what your question is----everything you have quoted is around 725----
the 750 number is for everything except E-85 (just to be clear)

What is the fuel this press release is referring to? Is that clear enough?
