If you want good looking "stock"cars go to a damn car cruise. Racecars are built to go fast and handle well not for beauty pagents

At Bedford you can still tell what type/make of car they are.

I love the street stocks that run the Bedford/ hagerstown/Winchester circuit, definitely some of the sharpest looking ( and fastest! ) cars around! :)

Hey Ed, correct me if I am wrong here but back in the old PRA days if a car got banged up didn't they have to have the body straightened out within 3 weeks ? I'm thinking of back in the dirt track days. Those cars always looked good.

And I also remember when tracks had a rule theat late models had to run a body of the past 3 model years.

Why do I like racing ? Well the colors are bright and there is a lot of movement, so it holds my attention.

Pretty much right on. But then again, all through the years of who I have been associated with, i.e. Luffy, Borawiec, Buccella, The cars were always pounded out straight and touched up weekly, which kind of how I got my start.

The PRA had a 10 year body limit, and back then those guys kept up on body work to a point. Funny though, at the big end of the season races at Heidleberg, a lot of the out of towners had pretty rough looking cars. I'd say today's late models, (like them or not), keep up with body work also. Statline and Eriez had a 3 year limit in the 50's-60's and 70's, wanting there late models to be "late models"

Those bodies are quite expensive and very labor intensive to keep straight. They look great, but they are as impractical as impractical can be.

those bodies look the same as my car does but the hood is different the only difference between these bodies and the late model look a likes are that my body guy used a half of a piece of plastic pipe to make the aluminum roll instead of the sharp bends and he did it on a 6 foot break with the turn buckle hold downs , you would be surprised how many compliments i got from even the young fans at the last fan appreciation night i raced at a few years ago. you can still knock the dents out but instead of the sharp bends they are rolled .

some of the "home built" new york pro stock bodies are completely hideous looking, not everyone is going to spend $1500 on a body every year.
