The name changes already are happening with the class. Lernervlle calling them Sportsman & Bedford calls them Semi-Late's.

Boy you said a mouthful. 'Stock Car' racing is so far from its roots that we should change the name. These cars haven't been produced for decades. Sometimes I really miss the old days when chevelles, torinos and road runners duked it out on the bull rings and those very type cars filled the parking lots as that's what the fans drove to the track in. We are far away from 'stock cars' cost of a new 1969 Camaro $2800.00 cost of a new2013 Camaro 58,000.00 yeah when you buy one to take to the track and smash up and, one to drive to it so will I. better yet I would put 60,000.00 in a late model and that's the only class you will have.

I like the looks of a lot of the "street stocks" around our area, but I love the old school monte bodies. they just look good, and painted and stickered up, they look awesome!!

OK, this "car" was at Mercer the night of the Chiller Thriller. I think its number might be 44. It doesn't even vaguely resemble any car I have ever seen. What might it be ???

Why do I like racing ? Well the colors are bright and there is a lot of movement, so it holds my attention.

At Bedford you can still tell what type/make of car they are.

I'm with you Kenny, this is the car that really upsets me. I would have more pride than this in my equipment.

It is nice, but I just prefer the other look. Keep in mind that I crew for a car with the new body style.

No doubt, there. Back then people had family sustaining jobs. Today people have to work multiple jobs for low pay and then take out a 6 or 7 year note to get a car. Bottom line, peoples ability to buy a car hasn't kept up with the cost of them. Still, we are far from stock car racing. I attend those big enduros at looneyville on occassion and I find it interesting at how the various makes and models compete against one another.

How about we let the people who spend the money building these cars decide what "style" of body to run?
