Thunder Mountain being closed clearly didn't help Dog Hollow enough. Why would Dog Hollow closing make Thunder Mountain a viable operation? Now that Dog Hollow has closed for the year, I think it would be the time for Thunder Mountain to open and help fill the gap left on Friday night.
What do the fans, drivers and owners think about this?

To bed, to bed said Sleepy Head. Let's tarry a while said Slow. Let's put on the pot said Greedy Gut and we'll eat before we go.Maybe if they were smart enough to install a smode booth as you have done ...

Your forgetting the track promoters didnt have to deal with bam bam as president ... He is attempting to destroy all of the higher paying blue collar type jobs usually filled by racers . And the cost of competitive equiptment is several times higher than it used to be. Then add tracks playing favorites and unequal enforcement of the rules it's easy to see why guys quitI know there are a lot of racetracks but can anyone remember when there was a track in about every town ? they had a race track i know i can name a few ..... Mahaffee..Houtsdale ...clearfield ..i heard there was an old wooden track in Snow Shoe at one time and heard they ran like old model "A" type jalopys on it Hummingbird , Marion center used to run back in the 70's but i don't know what night .the reason why you can't have this many tracks is because the rules are so out of hand you can't hardly go to another track and run, look at Marion center's street stock rules and their strictly stock rules .. as long as it is a 350 block in strictly stocks there is no limit as to what you do to it .and the Street stocks are unlimited cubic inch so really there is no engine rule. you will never get the rules back in shape because the guys who have the money to pound into a car don't want you to be able to afford to make them look bad on the track and they are the guys making the rules . i am not mad just saying if everyone could afford to race with a decent set of rules the pits would be packed and packed pits bring fans to the stands who spend money. think about that .that is why i am so baffled as to why this semi late class at a.m.p has not blown up in car counts everyone is limited to what they run and you can't hardly be out spent on your engine and shock package .

Glad to see you made a reply with mentioning a smode booth! You are correct, this sport, along with the majority of everything else in our lives, is getting killed by the government. We are imploding! The cost of everything within associated with racing has doubled in the last 15 years, chassis, engines, parts, and some things have tripled and quadrupled, like fuel and shocks! But don't forget the cost of operating the tracks has doubled too, and the biggest problem for the track is insurance! Our liberal courts have allowed stupid frivolous lawsuits awarding billions of dollars to people, which is often paid by the insurance companies! So blame it on whatever you want, but I don't care what type of industry or sport your talking about when the costs of operation continue to rise, while the revenue and money coming in stays steady or even rises but not at the rate the costs are rising, it will fail. Get ready, because things will probably get worse before it gets any better, unless of course we can start getting Obama racecars given to us along with our Obama phones! But really, as much as I dislike Obama, this began way before him! The times have been changing for the worse for some time, maybe it's time to start over, seriously does you local track still have a prayer before the national anthem? Hell do they still play the national anthem! The forefathers put in God we trust on our money for a reason!

You are correct but those were different times. Look at the pictures from back then. The stands are packed. The only racing fix could be had by going to a race. Today, you can watch racing of any given venue on any given night on television. Sprint Cup racing (while incredibly boring) TV coverage is way better than going to a race in person. Add to that fact that TV sucked back then and there were not nearly as many things to do. Fact remains that there were tracks successfully running 6-7 nights a week back in the day.

i'm certainly not telling anyone how to spend money. but this thread also has absolutely nothing to do with your sarcastic, arrogant, ignorant ass. if you race up here or have anything to do with any of the tracks up here, you can then run your dick flaps all you want. until then, keep your ball smelling nose out of it.Wow this thread takes some balls .... You liberal pieces of $hit think you have some right to tell this VSI guy how to spend his money ????? It's his damn money and none of your business how he spends it !!! If you want to buy a track or sponsor a division with money you earned go right ahead !!!

yupp....guy who has everything wants to buy himself something nice.... makes senseI'm all for sponsoring cars, racing classes, and race tracks, but we all know warrior only sponsored the street stock class at hummingbird because his cars finished 1-2 in points last year and got nothing for it. He wants to buy himself something special this year lol.
Back on topic..... I would be happier if the other tracks closed and thunder mountain opened on Saturdays. Unfortunately, the place is done. All we can hope for is a special sometime but I don't think even that would work out.
