I only like Professional Football. So I guess College and High School ball should not exist. I bet a few people willl disagree with me!

I'll take the Fab Four shows at Lernerville anytime over the big touring events. I was at Lernerville on Thursday night and will be there Saturday night, since the big boys are so close to home, but I no longer go out of my way to see these sanction events. Without grassroots local racing there would be no touring series.

I agree.

But, I understand where this fellow is coming from. In my honest opinion, the overall quality and choices of weekly racing in this region have fallen off considerably over the last 6 to 8 years. It is for that very reason and despite the fact that I am not a huge LM fan that I'm going to attend my first Firecracker 100 this evening. I used to use this weekend as an excuse to check out other area tracks, like DHS or TMS, or go somewhere different on Saturday. The problem is that none of weekly programs other than MRP are compelling enough for me to go see.

Having said that, I'm not a big fan of the touring series' races. The qualifying formats favor the big money guys. I personally think they try to influence track conditions. Some say they should. I say they should run on what they have and like it. Too many times I've spent more than twice what I do weekly at Lernerville to see a slow, boring race.

I actually prefer to go to a new track for the first time to see a weekly show. You get a much better feel of what a track is about at a weekly show. In fact, I'm hitting Winchester, VA. in August for a weekly show on my way down to the Outer Banks.

I don't travel more than an hour or two to any big show, and generally only go to big shows at tracks that I support regularly anyways.

You'll have a good time at Winchester, it's a nice little track that still gets decent car counts. One note of advice, don't park behind the main grandstand, it will take you forever to get out of the place. Park over by the pits. Enjoy.

Ive always enjoyed Winchesters weekly shows. They seem to have a super late special almost every week. Street stock and 358 limited lates also put on good show. I was there 3 weeks ago and fwd and rwd 4cyl also had excellent racing. Id be there every week if it wasn't 170 miles away. Check schedule before you go some of there races are on Fridays this year.

I already checked the schedule and booked a room. We were going to do the trip to the Outer Banks in two days anyway, and figured we might as well see race wherever we stop.
