Much to Suhoney18's chagrin, we didn't pack up and close down after the first event on June 22nd. We are racing on the ASPHALT again this weekend, July 27th. And Again on August 17th. We will have a Late Model race and a limited field of street stocks and 4 cyls. The last race, while a little light on car count, was some excellent racing and we expect the racing will be just as good this Saturday. It will take some time, but we will build this back up and present some great local asphalt racing. As for all the asphalt haters out there - we're sticking around just to give you something to hate! (just having a little fun) We have some great plans in the works so stay tuned for details of coming events. BUT for now COME OUT and see some good asphalt Late Model racing on JULY 27th.
106mph avg for Nathan Russell in qualifying last time. That is FLYING.
Looking forward to a good night on the pavement!

Why are they running Saturday night against every track in the area.
My family and friends would most likely attend and support if it were a sunday event. We raced the pavement for years and like it, but will not take a night off of racing to go see it. If you want to get people it would help to schedule around the dirt tracks of the area.
Marion Center, AMP, Hummingbird, just in the immediate area run Saturday nights. find a way to work around it or with them.... JMHO
Their excuse is that dirt guys wouldn't ce anyway. Stupid logic. I'd be there too if it was a different night. I asked the same question last race. Oh well, I'll watch the NASCAR race on dirt like everyone else. Funny how more people got excited over practice at eldora than will probably watch the cup race this weekend.

Agree 100%. In my opinion, the asphalt track would do so much better if they ran Sundays.

And located in the upper Midwest or Charlotte area. It's a shame this area can't support asphalt racing. Not that racers won't race there, there is just so much more dirt equipment and knowledge here, and multiple tracks to run at that won't cost you more to get there, than what purse money you can win. Are Motordrome and Lake Erie closed down? I didn't think that they were.
No. Motordrome and Lake Erie are still operational. Motordrome still runs late models, but they don't get that many. They don't really get many cars in any class, but they have been getting unbelievable crowds. I haven't been to Lake Erie in a couple years, but I do know they dropped late models this year.

Was never said that Dirt guys wouldnt come - what was said is there are fans that love Dirt and fans that Love Asphalt and then there are fans that love racing and will come to see Fast racing - and anyone out there that says that a 1/2 mile + of asphalt aint faster than a small Dirt bullring is not telling the whole truth.
NOW Eldora Wednesday night was pretty much an asphalt track during the feature - Now it was a slippery Rubber COATED dirt track which any of us dirt racers and I was one years ago - Knows that the car feels like its running asphalt with all the rubber on it.
So this track was run for almost 20 years as asphalt and will once again prosper I guarantee it

They are closed minded when it comes to anyone making suggestions as to improve car and fan counts and if this continues it will end up the same way as the previous owners, it will be for sale again. Look what happened at Jennerstown, Motordrome and Lake Erie.
it aint closed mindedness it simply that EVERYONE thinks they know how to run the track but no one stepped up to do it before the present owners and also everyone talks about AMP now they just reopened this year after being closed for an extended period of time so lets not talk about it like its been running constant for 20+ years and also there have been multiple Tracks in this imediate area close down just in 2013 - Dog Hollow mid season and others

I heard someone asked them why they are racing on Saturdays in stead of Sunday and the one, not the owner, said they have real jobs theyh have to be at on Monday's.
A noon start are Sunday's has worked for years in the past and would work again, if they wanted it too. So sad to see it struggling like this when they could make it much better.
OK im going to be nice as I AM THE OTHER ONE - and WE dont have jobs to get to on Monday (though we do both have jobs outside of running a racetrack) - I for one have moved to Clearfield area just so that I can devote more time to the track and marketing the ability to get cars and fans. Thing people dont understand is that this AINT a small deal to US as we both live 200+ miles from the track and make the trip up here EVERY weekend, Now as I said I have moved here thanks to being able to transfer with my real job LOL
NOW WHAT WAS ACTUALLY SAID WAS (I will stop yelling) That Drivers in the late Model Division are from Ohio, New York and other areas and a late night for them on a Sunday would and could affect those that need to be at work on Monday Morning.
As for struggling everything struggles at first, and since there hasnt been Asphalt racing here in a prolonged period of time not counting the few races run in 2012 - It will take some time to build it back.
Now anyone who wants to address this answers please come to the race on Saturday July 27 and I will happily answer Every question you have, I may not know all the answers but one thing for sure is that We know we have a long row to Hoe and I ready to get my hands dirty
