How many late models are in the pits? Who are the three heavy hitters mentioned? There were 14 lates at motordrome last night and none of the guys I talked to plan on going.

What was their reasoning for not wanting to come up? That's what they need to work on to get cars. You would think these guys would be itching to race anywhere they could.

Rob and John are visiting Motordrome and Erie regularly and making contacts, talking with drivers and former drivers, etc. They work the phones and send invites. The track owners are working hard to get cars. It would be awesome to have a full field and they won't stop until that happens. Even then they probably won't stop...

Well some drivers said location of track and cost to tow all that way. Some of the other drivers did not like the fact that you're forced to buy tires and I believe it was at least 10 gallons of fuel from the track. Also, others don't like the fact that it's $5-10 more per person to get the pitcrew in the gate than other tracks. There were issues the first race with tech and no one seemed to have a complete understanding of what was going on. One of the tech guys was comparing things on cars to the way it should be on dirt late models and the driver of the car told him " In case you hadn't noticed we are on asphalt". One driver told me he would have to make changes to his car and add weight to run. I didn't really understand that though since he was legal at Motordrome. Not being willing to post a purse for the support divisions killed the first race and have them fighting a uphill battle. Don't get me wrong I support them and really hope they do well but these are they compliants I have heard.

Ramey, I didn't mean to come across as saying they aren't TRYING to get cars. What I was asking is, of the drivers that are asked and choose not to come, what reasons are they giving? Sorry for any confusion. I can't imagine these guys not wanting to race with the small selection of tracks. I would want to help any way possible if I had an asphalt car.

No problem. ;)

As for confusion, of course there will be confusion. The management is working diligently to put procedures in place, clarify things, and build the brand.

We were talking tonight about hill parking being five deep in the mid-90's. Since everything comes full circle it can be that way again.

Grandstand admission for tonight was $15 which is a discount from the first race, keeping in mind there has been only one race so far under the new management. That wasn't very long to make a change. Fans talked, they listened.

There also wasn't a Super Cup race either so I would expect the admission to be a little less

Well please allow me to clarify one thing - Thanks go out to Ramey for helping in our postings here - NOW as for car count lets talk about the June 22 race we had over 25 cars tell us YES we are comning to the track to race and well those who arrived on June 22 saw that roughly 13 cars were there, One car broke during practice and left early - So we as owners go to tracks and speak to drivers, and are told to our face that YEP we will be there and thats what we have to go on - UNTIL come race day and then some of those same drivers dont show up for one reason or another.

As for this race we were on the phones all day with multiple drivers in 3 different divisions , we were all playing Meterologist and trying to pray the rain away - However that didnt happen - so the pits were fairly sparce at mid afternoon - BUT we aint going away and will be gearing up for our AUGUST race

Someone mentioned that we didnt post support pay out - Thats correct it didnt make it to the website however I cant tell you the amount of guys that either called us or asked via Facebook Message, or post and got the answser to any and all questiosn they had.

Actually the admission didnt change from last season when there was simply 1 TBRA race on each night, not counting the NASCAR K&N race where the admission was even more expensive.

So the Super sup race on June 22 had no bearing at all on the 20.00 admission price, However we decided to lower the gate fee for this race

Thanks Speedy here are the pay outs and yes the SS isnt bad at all - So lets see how many cars we can manage from our locals at our August race. Its the local support that brings in the local fans since it is your neighbors, mechanics, lawyers and barbers that are out there driving. Names like Ramey Womer, Dan Hummel,Nathan Russell, and Walt Timblin just to name a few all are either chomping at the bit to race or as for Nathan he had a GREAT run in our June race Side by side going into 3 on last lap Amazing. So I challenge all drivers and fans to come visit CNB Bank Raceway Park in August

Thanks Speedy and youre right lets get some cars out there for our August race - It is the support divisions that bring in the fans from the local area because its the local Mechanics, barbers and lawyers that are running cars in these support divisions - Now thats not saying that local talent cant wheel a Late Model - Ramey Womer, Nathan Russell & Tim Bainey Jr. just to name a few have showed that very well and as for Street stock we also have Ramey, Dan Hummel and Walt Timblin so

just a suggestion here......bring in some class that hardly gets seen around here...like the asphalt sprints, arca trucks, outlaw late models, asphalt modifieds, even longer shot but what about supermodifieds? them cars would absolutely haul the mail around that place and im sure you would get a good crowd for them

Not sure what their rules are for the cnb classes but many teams down east from the Pocono Mtn Speedway used to make the tow to Clearfield. With asphalt modifieds, the track used to pull between 24-30 for a couple specials they had and virtually none of them were local. I think veteran Tony Siscone won the last one. Put an awesome show on.

While I wish the track nothing but success. I think the payouts for the 4cyl's are way too low. AMP pays $ 125 for less than 20 cars and $ 225 for over 20 cars. There are a pile of them to draw from. That class... if you can get them to come, will boost your pit gate and put family and friends in the stands. That track has a good history of packing the place with SPECIAL RACES. Book some specials and keep the gate low. AMP packed their place with a 410 Sprint Show on a Sunday for $ 12.00 admission. Just something to think about.

Social media is a great tool. Look guys, the management at CNB Raceway Park are listening and replying to questions here and the alternatives sites. Rob and John do have a long-term plan, will it need tweaking along the way? Absolutely! There are very few asphalt cars race ready in the area right now and in the short term will hurt car counts. This is the building year, CNB 100% understands the support classes fill the stands. I seen them yesterday calling, texting, and messaging drivers to come out to the track. 4 cylinders were offered to come the track for free to race for a purse!!! The support classes will be developed as cost effective for the local drivers as possible. They are looking into special races, they are working with other tracks, and listening to fans and drivers. Is there a magic formula? No, of course not, each race track and area have different strengths and weaknesses. But Rob and John are trying, they didn't purchase the track to fail. They will develop a program that benefits fans and drivers and build from it. So if you get a chance try to make it to an upcoming race. Also check out the On Track Racing Experience on non-racing Saturdays. Ramey, Rob, and I have been the regular drivers for the ride along and what a blast it is!!! It's a pretty cool experience you can drive a 450HP late model on a 5/8 mile race track or ride along at near race speed! I have seen many happy customers and hopefully continue to see more. If you happen to run into Rob or John say hi, thank them for being committed to bringing asphalt racing back to the area and offer friendly some suggestions.
