Ramey,

It was my #2 four cyl in '96. The dirt guys came over from Hidden Valley, they were allowed to modify their engines alot more than us. We helped Craig Lobb with tires and setup, I think he was the track champion over there that year.

So I'm thinking asphalt chargers with 305s vs dirt pure stocks with 350s would probably be an entertaining race. Same with street stocks, aren't dirt SS allowed up to 406s? While asphalt SSs are 358s or 602 crates.

Anyway I hope some drivers make the trip over 8/18 - support division drivers are free!

This will be interesting, wonder if youll see the race teams from the area that always used to run pavement that changed to dirt, make their way back to the pave track with their dirt cars?? hmmmmmmmmm

could we see a mcmillen back on CNB raceway park??? what about a Surra or runyen? Maybe youll see guys come out of retirement to run a car for the pavement? if dirt guys are scared, grab someone who has been on the pavement and ask them to drive. Get more Advertisement for your sponsors on your car. This is gonna be FUN! cant wait to head back to the pave track. :) Good luck CNB raceway! I hope you get support from the local fans/drivers

I think they are going to get a few cars if the cost of tires are not too much , but to go there with a street_ stock and expect to beat Paul Mollura would be pretty close to impossible no matter the size of your engine compared to his plus the difference in a dirt car and an asphalt car is huge . i would not even know what gear you would put in to run a half mile pavement plus spring set up and how to scale a dirt car compared to asphalt , there are a lot of factors that need to be figured in . I might go to see what goes on i remember the keystone open it got a good crowd i believe.

I remember empty running the pavement for a season. I could be wrong but I believe he struggled being competitive.

Converting a dirt Pure Stock to an asphalt SS is not as big as it might sound. Dan Hummel is doing that now and has said he is willing to talk with others to help them do it. CNB Bank Raceway Park is offering a free pit pass to the driver for all 3 supports divisions, including SS's. Also, the track will double the purse for each support division that starts at least 15 cars.

I'm going from memory from my SS setup, maybe my crew chief Mike E can chime in later.
Gear: We ran 4.88 and 5.13s.
Springs: LF 900 RF 1100 LR 200 RR 225
Weight: Rules state 56% max left and must have 54% front
Cross/wedge: 52-54%

Now this was with 10" tires, I haven't run on the 8" tires but for a try me on asphalt it would get you close.

Ok just left Rob from the CNB raceway. The admission will be 15 for grandstand and 20 for hillside. There are 5 dollar off at local businesses for grandstands. Some are CNB bank and fun central. Hoping to see some new faces on the 18th.

Yes, gates open at 2:00pm. I hope the kids have a blast in the bike races. There were 7 LM practicing yesterday and most were turning some very fast laps! Should be a great afternoon of racing.

See you at the track!!!

I might just venture over and check it out, 15 isn't too bad for admission. I hope they have a decent amount of late models so there is some competitive racing.. ;)
