I am not about to take sides here, but pray tell me what is the difference in Blair running Eriez and McKane County every week than the likes of Ferree, Miley, Norris and Geisler/Pegher running Lernrville-Pittsburgh every week??? Most guys run fairly close to home on a regular basis, and few have the $$$ backing to do what Satterlee is currently doing!! And as far as Blair not coming down "south", how many times do the four mentioned above head to the Northern Tier to run a ULMS or other extra payoff race there?? Simply, Blair is having a great year and the guys he is beating, Knight, Briggs, Hess, etc. are sure no pushovers!! End of debate!!!

GOOD RACING!!!1

Walt

#1 no difference #2 yes they do and no they don't #3 don't know why #4yes he is #5 no not yet see #3.

Video of Blair winning at Eriez on 8/4/13. Once they get through the first few cautions, the racing is pretty good.

I don't have too strong an opinion on this, I would like to see Rob travel more often, but I can accept that much of it has to do with wanting to put Max's operation ahead of his own, if that is the case. However, I can understand the other side of this debate as well. It's not exactly difficult to come to some of the bigger shows around the Western PA area that he chooses to avoid, and it is rather gaudy for a former Renegade/MACS/ASLMS regular to beat up on locals up North where the competition has fallen behind from where it was in the early 2000s in equipment that is likely just as good as it was when he was a touring regular. If Billy Moyer decided to that he'd rather put his effort into launching Billy Moyer Jr's touring career, and spent the year winning 15 events at Batesville Motor Speedway, it wouldn't exactly be awe inspiring. Just an example, certainly not comparing the careers of Rob Blair and Billy Moyer. Hey, running only where you have a better than 75% chance at winning a 1500 payout is smart if that's what you're in it for, and I respect the guy's ability, but it's a lot easier to respect someone in a similar situation like Davey Johnson, who has scaled back his operation in recent years but could still come to Lernerville and PPMS every week and win 10 features a year at each track, but chooses to run the big shows instead. For the record, I don't think Blair would be beating guys like Ferree or Miley nearly as often as he's winning up there.

This is actually a fun debate for a change. Look at the Top Ten in points at Eriez and McKean and then look at the top ten in points at Lernerville and PPMS. Its pretty clear, the talent pool is deeper up north. With that being said, Miley, Davey, Alex, are good any where, but the deep end of the pool is up north.

Who exactly up north is so great??? Hess is tough anywhere. other than that. Mike Knight?? what has he won?? Boom Briggs is horrible anymore. Ron Davies hasn't done anything in years. That being said. I will take a Friday night at Lernerville over Eriez and Mckean every night. I guess Blair is beating top notch talent nightly. who started this damn thread.

I doesn't really matter what anyone thinks or says. rob is doing what he thinks is best for him and max. . rob don't have to prove anything to anyone nor does he care what anyone thinks. I know I would rather see him race some than not at all.

I think the problem is that he sets a fairly ambitious schedule at the beginning of the year only to cancel the non-northern tracks as the event draws nearer. Just an observation, not a bash

So, if your worried about Rob running the southern tracks, why isn't the southern crew coming up to the northern tracks? Seems like a double standard to me. Bottom line is, the state Super Late racing is in, this shouldn't even be a discussion, all tracks are very lucky to get mediocre car counts. We as fans need to help the promoters thru these forums with ideas to try to help the car owners to get sponsorship to be able to field cars. There are some very good drivers everywhere, but I also know of alot of very good drivers sitting in the stands that can't afford to race anymore. Bottom line is, racers are going to do what they have to do to survive and keep a car on the track, if that means running only local events to keep the overhead down, then so be it. No need to bash and criticize any Super Late driver or team owner. As the old saying goes, "Put up or shut up". If you are so worried about it, take the hundreds of thousands of dollars you are saving by sitting in front of your computer complaining and go buy a super late team and run where ever you would like. There are tracks all over the United States.

The guy is a turd. Last year when he had no backing and the same budget as 80% of the other racers around here he completely sucked. So when the playing field is level he's just an average driver. Well that and a cry baby douche bag.

Oh yes and and he never shies from the toughest competition, that's what I like best about him.

He's a big fish in a little pond. A good local racer. I wouldn't even call him a regional driver at this point.

Running Erie and Mckean county every week is hardly the qualifications for being unstoppable. He has had nice run of wins at those two tracks. He should know every inch of both those tracks. His schedule says at end of year Pittsburgher. and Steel city Stampede. what are odds he shows up driving.??? He chooses to stay at 2 tracks that is his choice. Good Local driver at those 2 tracks. throw in Raceway 7 on occasion. Definitely does not travel anymore. be it financial or family or job reasons.

I use be fan of Mr. Blairs. that was many moons ago. when he went where competition was. he so called traveled. now for what ever reason he does no traveling. and mops up on guys at local tracks. he makes money doing that. good for him. just wonder what happen if Danny Holtgraver. Greg satterlee. Ed Lynch would do if they had same wave length. they go where competition is try and better them selves. running big shows going against the best dirt has to offer. I'm not ripping Blair. He does what he has to. But for people to say he is the best around and unstoppable. is ass a nine. Was hoping see him at ULMS race at PMS. recently. he was in pits and not driving. you make haul there and don't drive?? enough said. cya at raceway 7. stellar line up ....... tried leaning on shane clanton at McKean. what happened.?? guys at raceway 7 and eriez must be intimidated. Lets do this post again come Pittsburgher and Steel city Stampede. He has them on schedule. yet that means nothing when he had both tracks on schedule earlier in year.
