No doubt Alex has been bad fast this year, but the problem with him is his ability to maintain focus. Can he hold it together for a long distance race? I wouldn't mind seeing a local guy take the money, but the national guys are tough to beat in 100 lappers. The way Alex Ferree has been rolling this year at PPMS, he might have something to say about that.

This is true, but for the race on Friday night, look out.

You assume national "stars" have some big advantage at PPMS. They don't, except for Richards. It's not a track that's easily adapted to.

But they do. All one needs to do is look at the previous Pittsburghers from 2007 and back when the fields were stout

And there's more locals in the top tens of those lists then any other big late model race. You obviously don't know all that much about dirt late model racing.

Dude, it wasn't about him being in the top ten. And I would be willing to bet that the top 5 were a lap ahead in many cases. Were you even around to watch the Pittsburghers in the 90s?

Yes, I was around for some of them. And the local/regional drivers were every bit as stout as the national touring guys.

Anyways... why don't you post your thoughts on car #'s 51-75 as to who will likely or probably be there. This is just for fun, ya know?

I think Barbara, Satterlee and Ferree all have a good chance at making one hell of a showing for the Pittsburgher. Those 3 seem to have the place figured out. PPMS has to be one of the tougher tracks to setup for. Look at Hubbard and Moran's showing earlier this year.
Either way no matter who wins this is looking to be one hell of a good race and I can't wait for it.
Miley, Norris and Burgoon too.

I just want to point out that Alex ran a 17.202 in his Heat on Saturday and won by half a track. According to MyLaps.com that is a track record. Not sure if that is official or not? Maybe Matt Miley can confirm?Well I doubt It, he will struggle against a real field of late models

That is where I got my information. My question was to Matt Miley in regards to MyLaps accuracy on it actually being the track record.Mylaps says it was a new record:
Announcements
New Track Record (17.202) for SUPER LATE MODELS by Alex Ferree. 130.799 MPH
Either way that is the fastest I have ever personally seen a car get around that place.
