i can't agree enough. a pure stock is just that, a PURE STOCK! at the rate AMP was going with them last year, they should be called street stocks. pure stocks are supposed to be a stock engine, 2 barrel carb, all steel, factory clutch, factory transmissions, factory rear-ends, stock steel bodies or stock appearing STEEL bodies. over the past few years, pure stocks have become street stocks, street stocks have become something completely different as well. outlaw stocks if you will. its a bit sad, when the Semi Late division, hypothetically costs less than the street stocks should, and they run about the same lap times. this past year there were a couple street stocks that would have competed well against the entire late model class. it's out of hand, this is my opinion, and i personally have no problem putting it out there.this is one of the worst ideas yet to not have a rules meeting , this is where things that are alresdy out of hand get worse next thing you know the cars from marion center that want to run streetstock will be legal down here and believe me that is one way to drive off the locals ,it would not surprise me one bit if someone suggests that if quick change rear ends and 3 links and bert transmissions were legal there would be at least 5 more streetstocks show up and bingo next thing you know they are legal. the purestocks at a.m.p changed rules almost every week to where double pumper carberators and triple disc clutches were legal ,come on this is a purestock class if you got the money to run this stuff you need to move up to street stock class . just my opinion and a lot of guys do not have the guts to come on here and express their opinion but someone needs to clip this before we all are sitting at the track wondering why nobody has the money to race . have a meeting even if it is at the track, we don't need a catered food luncheon to make simple rules .

The entire point of the guys semi late class was to offer people a cheap way to race !!!! Those cars don't draw fans therefore he can't pay them more than they bring inwhat do u expect to happen when u win the semi-late feature and get less pay out money then the guy that wins the pure stock feature

1st 3link and quick change rears are not legal at marion center and as far as berts, brinns, falcon tranny's they are much safer (nothing to come apart and hurt someone)and should be legal at amp and every other track that run street stocks (most already do) and there were a few this year at amp with them believe methis is one of the worst ideas yet to not have a rules meeting , this is where things that are alresdy out of hand get worse next thing you know the cars from marion center that want to run streetstock will be legal down here and believe me that is one way to drive off the locals ,it would not surprise me one bit if someone suggests that if quick change rear ends and 3 links and bert transmissions were legal there would be at least 5 more streetstocks show up and bingo next thing you know they are legal. the purestocks at a.m.p changed rules almost every week to where double pumper carberators and triple disc clutches were legal ,come on this is a purestock class if you got the money to run this stuff you need to move up to street stock class . just my opinion and a lot of guys do not have the guts to come on here and express their opinion but someone needs to clip this before we all are sitting at the track wondering why nobody has the money to race . have a meeting even if it is at the track, we don't need a catered food luncheon to make simple rules .

you should expect that when there weren't that many cars all year. sure i know someone in another thread said there were 19 total....all year.... 19 cars. not all on the track at one time. this year should be different, i've heard from a few more people that they will be there. but it took how long to just get the third car last year? i'm expecting this class to grow. as long as the rules stay how they are, and are enforced which seems to be a problem around the area with any class. Legend hit it on the head, they really don't draw crowds. maybe if there were 40-50 of them and they were running for 2500 to win or something like that? sure, then they probably would. This class draws drivers, and family. not fans yet. but it will.what do u expect to happen when u win the semi-late feature and get less pay out money then the guy that wins the pure stock feature

i think he is putting a car together. What was wrong with the tech guy this year he had no problem with anyone, and no favoritism. He did what Jeff wanted him to do.

To my understanding.. Bert's will be legal at AMP This season in SS Class.
In my opinion. A Bert isn't going to win you a you a feature.
If you weren't at the last rules meeting.. This is what happened.
Each class had their own hour to discuss the rules.
Street Stocks and pure stocks both ran WAY over their time.
I honestly don't think I would have a rules meeting.. I would post them as soon
As possible.. And not waiver.. In these two classes we racers are our own worst enemy. We wanted this or that. In years past.. We got it.. Then guess what?? We wanted more.. We got it.. Then we split hairs to suit our needs. Then the economy gets crappy and we want to real them back in so we can afford.. What we created...
No one can write a perfect set of rules without grey areas or rules that will please everyone.
The biggest thing that needs teched and stuck to is suspension.. The stuff that's on some of these stock cars is CRAZY! But it somehow fits into grey areas of the rules.
well if berts are legal then i want mags and quick change rears............see were this is going.
NO BERTS
sorry my opinion

A steel tube quick change with no birdcages is a good idea.
Whole thing can be rebuilt, gears are say $20 at a swap meet
New are what $60-80?
9" gears roughly $80 for a R/P used and roughly $300 for a used set
New is pushing if not more than $600
I'm a fan of the 9" but the economics aren't there....
agreed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
