this isn't always the case. gear selection has a lot to do with it. if you run a taller gear, the outside is the place to be. keep the momentum up. not sure if that's how it is at amp, but it is the case at hummingbird. Most guys that pass on the outside are the ones with big hammers under the hood.

Or balls enough to do it. Margin for error is very fine on the top side. Most guys that pass on the outside are the ones with big hammers under the hood.

Yeah and finishing 24th in points at your weekly track for the year it takes great big Harry balls to ride around behind everybody at a half mile track just my tossed off openion.Balls are not required at tracks as small as hummingbird ...

ed connor, Jason witherite, and kevin lindemuth (on the outside) went three wide into 3 some years back. very ballsy move, and it didn't work out for kevin. it does take some balls to run up top in some cases at track that small.Balls are not required at tracks as small as hummingbird ...

I was at a total of 5 points races ..... Balls was at eldora in 2012 going into turn 1 there was a massive 20ft wide foot deep hole right under the cushion in turn 1 and the 5 fastest times hit that thing wide open with 5.28 gears turning 9k knowing that they had to hit the hole with their car sideways or they were knocking down the turn 1 wall... It was either fast time or junk race car and about 15 Guys went for it ... 5 made it , 10 pounded the wall .... That took balls .... Did you ever watch a woo sprint car race at eldora when it's hammer down ??? That takes balls .... Going to the outside going 70mph has nothing to do with ballsYeah and finishing 24th in points at your weekly track for the year it takes great big Harry balls to ride around behind everybody at a half mile track just my tossed off openion.

big track or small track, it takes some sort of balls to shove your nose in where it looks like there isn't room, or going into 3 without lifting on the outside of 2 other cars. running the top at hummingbird, doesn't really take as much balls as one would think, but when there are other cars on the inside, it takes some.I was at a total of 5 points races ..... Balls and the lack of brains can sometimes be confused.big track or small track, it takes some sort of balls to shove your nose in where it looks like there isn't room, or going into 3 without lifting on the outside of 2 other cars. running the top at hummingbird, doesn't really take as much balls as one would think, but when there are other cars on the inside, it takes some.
Driving like an idiot does'nt always mean that the driver has "balls".

you're right. but there is definitely a difference. years back at the mick, in a heat race I watched mike blose go into 3 wide open against the wall and it stuck and he made the pass coming out of 4 on the low side.Balls and the lack of brains can sometimes be confused.

Why do you have so much hate for the bird or anyone that runs there? I don't see anyone saying anything about Ppms on here or the other 7 guys you race with there.

For once....I totally agree with you! I get a kick out of these guys that run these little donut tracks with no outside wall! Going maybe 90 miles per hour tops down the straight! Lots of fun to race at....but not much courage needed! I would like to see these guys go to a place like Bedford that is Big ...fast.... tacky.... and as wide as a cattle shute with walls the whole way around it to hit at about 130mph! Or Eldora or even Latrobe speedway or Sellinsgrove! Then we will see who has the Stones or not!

That's all I was saying. I wasn't saying there isn't skill involved in that type of racing , I'm saying that type of racing is more a test of skill than a test of balls. And I don't mean all short tracks ... For instance search you tube for when Bloomquist set the track record at Tazewell !!!For once....I totally agree with you! And all I said was people don't give it a try and complain it's only a one groove track. It takes skill and balls on a 1/8 to a 1/2 mile. That's all I was saying. Are you saying that Bloomquist has more balls than skill then or Tazewell takes more skill than other short tracks I don't see how any track takes more skill than another just a different kind of skill and I don't know how much you know about late model racing but when I went to the Firecracker 100 a couple years ago people were saying that Bloomquist might be one of the best ever even though he didn't do well in that race he kept pittingThat's all I was saying. That's not at all what I was saying , I was saying that tazewell is an example of a short track that takes skill and ballsAre you saying that Bloomquist has more balls than skill then or Tazewell takes more skill than other short tracks I don't see how any track takes more skill than another just a different kind of skill and I don't know how much you know about late model racing but when I went to the Firecracker 100 a couple years ago people were saying that Bloomquist might be one of the best ever even though he didn't do well in that race he kept pitting
