So far, everything on that car looks brand new. Doesn't that ruin the point of running in a cheaper division? It would take 7 feature wins just to cover the new Winters RE in that class

Lol I thought the same thing but that's what the crate class is .... People who can't afford to outspend everyone in SLM go outspend everyone in crates instead lol and it's always the same argument you can buy a used xyz for the same price as a new x so we need to allow all of the super expensive $hit lolSo far, everything on that car looks brand new. Where are quality used mods supposed to come from in western PA? It's not like there's this large base of modified racers who get new equipment every year and sell off the old stuff.

Thank you for explaining that.... The pool of quality used parts in our area is pretty shallow right now. In time it will build and I am excited for this new class and the potential it has to build the modified base back up in western pa

No problem. Geting a brand new car that isn't completely flexed out is going to be easier to set up, too.
And yeah, the modifieds in this area finally have a feeder class. That's a great thing.

I understand its a shallow pool. But do some research. Travel to New York swap meets. Look online for deals. New equipment isn't necessary.
And truthfully, in that "cheaper", beginners class, it shouldn't be needed.
I know for a fact I could've gotten you 2 RE's for the price of a new one. Granted, they would've needed some care but racing requires the work.
I, personally think it is just foolish to spend that kind of money to race anything with crates.
I also cant imagine the class catching on. Its just another way for that creator to make money. The more divisions created, the worse racing gets.
Besides, aren't 358's supposed to be the learning block in modifieds?

Ya. I just do not understand. Max Blair ran crates for years. Granted he finally got a ride but he drove crates year after year winning races left and right but never bothered to move up and show people if he was for real or not.
Then I see Ryan Montgomery's WoO trailer pull into a racetrack to win 300 bucks that night. Such a waste of money. At least Pegher rotated between crates and supers.
