be careful racecar will call you a liar

Received a forwarded tweet from the speedway at 9:30am, 20 minutes later website read cancelled for 5/17... therefore I doubt racecar would call me a liar.

I couldnt understand why they tried to run with the radar showing pockets of rain all across the state, now some race teams will loose their pit fees because they can't return next week.

Mash the loud pedal.

PPMS has been sending out texts to your cell phone on cancellations for a couple seasons now. I signed up a little while ago, well worth it, and you no longer have to waste time calling the track over and over, hoping to get thru.

They got all the heats in, so I think its a complete show. They'll probably run double features for each class over the next few weeks i would think.

Thats when you really get the SHAFT as a racer!  Towed out...Paid addmission...Got the car dirty...Used fuel....Wait several weeks to get your payout!

Greedy!  This is the Era of Technology!  When they tell you its going to rain.......Its going to RAIN!  Why would any racer with any inteligence tow out there ?????  Now the track enjoys having your hard earned money in the bank for the next few weeks!  Time to wake up people!  Promotors make money on rain outs!  Especially when teams don't return!

They try and race and it rains you bitch. They cancel early and it gets nice you bitch.  WTF do you want???

Maybe it's time to sell off the racing operation and buy one of the many tracks sitting closed and show everyone else how to run a race track.

Sorry to rant Gene but this crap gets old......

I agree that you should be given a refund immediately if no racing happens, but to act like promoters hoard that money and make a killing in interest payments is absurd 10 or 20k sitting in the bank for a month gets you like 2 dollars in Intrest lol

I guess everyone forgets that when it rains at the track...people go to the concession!  No money being made there!  No money being made on interest for sure!  But lots of fans and drivers that are there on an iffy night won't return!  Tracks don't loose money when it rains,,,but drivers do!  The reason racing is hurting so bad is deffiniatley because of the Economy. But when times are good Teams just throw money!  Now there is no money  so ????  I want to see all tracks open and racing!  But some good common sence on both sides has to happen if this sport is going to continue!  Reasonable schedule......Reasonable payout...... Sunday racing and or rain dates.....Cost saving rules in all divisions.....and good common scense!  Most people on this board don't personally know any promotors!  Or what it costs to promote or where you make your money!  Thats why they think the way they do!  Promotion is business!  Just like any other!  Has to make money to stay open!  And racers have to quit loosing money at the rate they are to stay in business as well.  I only try to point out things I think are wrong!  Just My.02  Everyone is entitled to thier opinion!  But I also think your opinion should be based on how much you actually have spent trying to race,  Not someone that Spends $12.00 a night in the stands!  In a couple more years at rate of current progression....racing will be done on your Ipod!  Because Tracks and Competitors will be out of business!
