John Mollick won the 53 lap Red Miley Rumble in convincing fashion tonight at the Monster Half Mile.  Twenty cars out of twenty-one took the green flag.   Mollick was challenged first by Davey Johnson, then Alex Ferree, then Mason Ziegler, and Mike Pegher, but they all dropped out.  Track was very fast and rough tonight, with only 7 cars finishing the whole race.  I believe Mason Ziegler was turning sub18-second laps during his heat.  Lots of close racing until Mollick finally took control.  Mollick drove balls to the walls for 53 laps, losing the lead briefly to Mason Ziegler near the halfway point.

1.    John Mollick (4J)

2.    John Flinner (48)

3.    Colton Flinner (75)

4.     Mike Johnson (2J)

5.     Lynn Geisler (1C)

6.     Jim Stephans (38)

7.     Tommy Beck (91)

8.     Ben Miley (99)

9.     Tommy Beck (91)

10.   John Hodgkiss (69)

Among the DNFs were Jared Miley, Davey Johnson, Mike Pegher Jr., Alex Ferree, Ed Ferree, Brandon Burgoon, Mark Banal, Tony Musolino, Michael Norris, and Mason Ziegler.  Derrick Stefanick did not start the feature.   Josh Holtgraver (00) won the companion Pro Late Model feature from the eighth starting slot over Daryl Charlier (88) and Nico Dabecco (F1).  There were 21 Late Models and 17 Pro Late Models tonight.

The race itself reminded me of last years Firecracker that Josh Richards dominated. Both races had one dominant car running the top, and both races had various guys challenging the leader throughout it only for them to break.

I don't understand how you can't get 30 lates for a $5K to win, $250 to start show with no entry fees?

Where do you see $250 to start? It was $150 tow according to the flyer we got at lernerville Friday night. Also there was a suprise $50 entry fee.

There was A surprise 50 dollar entry fee that is not
Mentioned in any release anywhere. Maybe other people think water puddles all along the bottom
Of 1 and 2 is as absurd as I do. I went through all 15 tear offs in the first 2 laps and had to drive with 1 hand cleaning my shield the whole time. Yes I understand don't drive through the mud but when the guy in front of you does you then hit the water he threw into the groove . Eldora doesn't make part of their track unraceable and they will have over a hundred in 2 weeks and Portsmouth doesn't and they will have 80 plus for the DTWC. And why are they watering for 17 second conditions if they are trying to save the racers money ??? Leaving the water truck parked doesn't require any money being spent on their part ....

And Vince 5k isn't a big deal for super lates there's 10+ races every week across the country that pay a minimum 5k. 2k to win is a huge deal for cadets.

Dont make it seem like Mollick won 'cause of all the drop outs. It didnt matter, he was Jammin' the whole race. NOBODY was going to catch or pass him. He was in his own zip code. Congrats to the whole team they deserved it.

As far as the surprise entry fee, they also raised the pit fee $10.!? Plus the increased stand fees. I am not one to question how a track is ran but this just stunk the whole way around. I hope they learned a lesson before the Pittsburgher!

I do believe several drivers had the same issue as the Legend, making it hard to see.

The track was not like any other night. Thats what makes Mollicks win even better, he was ready for any condition (Just like the big teams who run WOO) and he proved he could possibly be the next Pittsburgher winner!

But the best race of the whole day had to be the heat race with Barbera and Davey Johnson. That was one of the best races of the night!

Ya he drove his ass off. I thought he was gonna get in the wall a few times in 1 and 2. The race with dave and Keith was awesome.

Event low light.

Where did the posted lap sponsor list go?

Where did the lap sponsor money for the unfilled positions in the field go?

The surprise entry fee is utter bullsh!t.

Low car count led to that last minute desperate cash grab.

Not good business practices.

Track was bad fast, if you can't handle it, pull it in.

Complaints about the bottom, run the cushion, pretty obvious it was the preferred line, and would catch a slide job well.

Event highlight.

Barbara and Johnson heat race battle.

Mollick put on a clinic in testicular fortitude!

Buttbeak I'm not complaining about the track being fast. They claim to want to save the racer money and those conditions don't save anyone money . There will never be a situation where you or anyone else convinces me that standing water on a race track is reasonable or prudent , if we had 3 inches of rain Saturday I would understand

Jon- didnt say it was a huge payout. I'm saying they had 16 SLM the week before for $1000 to win. I don't understand how a race that pays 5 times that and also $253 just to start only got 4 more cars. Those cars didnt know there would be water in 1 and 2 or if there was a surprise entry fee when they got there. No reason not to have 30 cars there.
