I don't understand how you can't get 30 lates for a $5K to win, $250 to start show with no entry fees?

The WoO was at Winchester and Portsmouth and Stateline had higher paying specials that drew cars that probably would have come to PPMS if it was scheduled on a different weekend.

Vince you have to understand that in business your reputation is important .... If some of my half a$$ competitors all of the sudden tried doing quality work that reputation would take years to overcome. Many people have many reasons to not come but hammer down giant half mile tracks are equiptment killers and the option between challenging to win at their track 20 win away or 2k or beating their car to death to run 10th 3 hours away is an easy decision for many people.

Reputation of the management is more of a factor IMO.  When you have a promoter that woudl rather race his race car instead of running the place, and an aunt and uncle that overrule officials to favor their nephew (documented), drivers are going t5o avoid that track.   The state of this track, their car counts and low crowds is a result of years of mismanagement, favortism and neglect of the facility (is the wall even safe for the drivers or the bleachers for the fans?)     Winchester only kept away about 3 cars that come to PPMS.  Portsmouth didn't draw anyone that comes there.   The northern cars only come when they want ULMS points or there is no other alternative.    Come on, a $5,000 to win race and ONE outside car comes all the way from Uniontown?   Car counts are down, but there are still plenty of cars to draw from in the tri-state area and none of them chose to come to PPMS even for $5,000.

Where on the flyer does it state that if you don't sponsor a lap there will be a fifty dollar entry fee? It also seems that Jared seems to have a lot of luck when pulling starting positions! A 2 for qualifying and a 1 for the start of the 53 lap race. Could have been luck, but he seems to be quite lucky at ppms.

Couldn't say it any better! I was really looking forward to the race and a full field but it wasn't meant to be I guess.

http://racestud.com/...view=getnewpost. Explain the difference between a "sponsor" and an "Entry Fee" Are they one in the same thing ? NO ENTRY FEE posted in the ad thanks to all of the sponsors , would clear things up in the flyer

Jared doesn't need any help to win a race, and if you'll notice bullding, he has picked quite a few good pills at Lernerville lately. And Squirrel Hilly, do you ever, ever post about an actual race, since this is a racing forum.  The answer is no, your 24 posts are all negative posts about PPMS.  Not a fan of the place, fine, don't go.  The facilities at Pittsburgh are no better or worse than any other regional tracks.

There is not a word anywhere about pay to advertise or pay an entry fee. And pay us to advertise or pay us to not advertise sounds like democrat policy at its finest. I 100% agree that dumping a bunch of money in the place would not generate the additional profits to cover itself but putting stuff clearly in writing and not flooding the track are free . I know the fans love hammer down .... Hammer down resulted in 1 car damn near lapping the field and only 8 of the 21 starters finishing the race .... Is that was the fans love ??? 8 cars finishing ??? And if the fans love that why weren't the stands packed ????

Jon that is the million dollar question- where are the cars and where are the fans at a traditionally SLM loyal track for a $5,000 to win show? There were a lot more of both at the previous ones.

flash49 he needed help that night in question. Like Huck said about his half a$$ competitors they can start building quality decks and it will take them yrs to recoup clients on what they screwed up, Mileys been doing that for yrs. there reputation isn't the best, when you piss of racers that's when u get 12 car late models fields and sportmans, that's why they get 20 cars on a 5 grand to win special, I know they been trying the last couple of yrs. having different specials and doing different things, but sometimes you think there turning the corner and then they screw something up. I would hope the place doesn't close but I think the writing is on the wall.

For once you say something that is easy to agree with. All these people cry about slick, hard surfaces but to me watching 8 cars finish a race when 1 almost lapped the field is not my idea of excitement. Every week they continue to flood out the bottom of the surface then send out the crates and let them run the track in during their race. There is absolutely no need to water the track after the heats other then to cause an intermission and hope people go and buy food or something.

I also have to agree with Jon on this one, hammer down no lifting results in not very much racing in th SLM and in the crates. Passing on the start after a yellow maybe, but that was because everyone broke or overheated.

No Ferg, Jared doesn't need any help to win, and in fact, the night you're talking about, he didn't win.  Karma usually takes care of those things.  Car counts are down most everywhere all over the country.  They only had 34 cars at Winchester for the WoO race, lots of locals stayed home.  Most of the non-travelling local drivers who don't race at Pittsburgh on a regular basis, are at a real disadvantage against the regulars and whatever regional guys show up for these races, which is why they don't come.   PPMS is really hard on cars, even when it's not so fast as it was Saturday night.  I, too, am looking forward to the Pittsburgher.

I'd say it's pretty easy on a car.. unless of course you try to knock down the wall

.When grip is irregular, it's definitely hard on the drive line and suspension.

It is usually very smooth, and the regulars show respect for one another.

Did the track get watered after the dose before the heats?

The Crate race went  G-W-C flags?

I wish they would double up on the features to make up for all the rain outs this year, too much racing was lost.

flash49, I know he doesn't need help, that's what I said because I think he can wheel a car, but that night in question he was giving the win. That's the night I am talking about.
