Russ King went from last to first. How can that be when he isn't in the starting grid posted on this thread?

You're right Dirt, he took another roll back in July or early August.

He had a guaranteed starting spot in the firecracker because he was the point leader at the time. But he didn't start the firecracker so I guess that would make him eligible for the non qualifiers race. And he made an easy $3000. You have to finish 7th to make $3000 in the firecracker

When he turned down that provisional, I felt that he should not be eligible for the Uncle Sam, either. Especially after reading the newspaper article where he said something along the lines of being more interested in running the Uncle Sam so he can drink beer during the Firecracker.
If you earn the right to represent the track with a provisional and you choose not to, that should be the end of your night. Suppose everyone starting 10th or worse said, "Bag it. I have a better chance to make more money in the non-qualifier." It would be the same thing - qualifying for the race, choosing not to run it, and being awarded a starting position in the non-qualifier feature.

IIRC, he wasn't actually the point leader at the Firecracker, Ferree was, but Alex made the field on merit and the provisional went to the next highest point guy who was Russ.
