I wasn't going to reply on this but I do not take kindly to being called a cheater. I am the Chassis builder and Crew Chief on the 92x stock car.
I start of by saying, congratulations to the 01 team. They ran a good race and deserved the win. I would have loved to see the 01 and 92x race for the win, but we just ran out of laps. That race was the first time that car has run at hummingbird, so I am thrilled with a 2nd place after starting toward the rear of the field. We do not settle for second though. We just work on the car to make it faster, and don't worry about everyone else stuff.
The problem in the tech shed was that our team felt it was a conflict of interest to have a competing engine and chassis builder to tech the car. If he would have been listed as the official tech man, probably wouldn't have a problem, but Orvie has been the tech guy there the last few years. We asked to have Orvie look at the car, along with Peachy, since he was in the shed at this point. Neither one of them had a problem with our request. Both looked at the car, pumped the engine and said "good run guys, you're good to go."
As far as some saying the car was illegal to hummingbird's rules I'll post them below. I can not find anywhere in the rules that covers what has said to be illegal. The closest is the complaint about the deck. the rules state no greater that 2" deck rake from midplate to rear, so back of engine to the base of spoiler. that is where they measure, it doesn't matter what it does in between. The deck drops down at the seat some to allow the driver to get in and out of the car easier.
These are copied from hummingbirds website. (They are listed as 2012 rules, as the only update since then is the 5" spoiler allowed at the beginning of the 2013 season.)
CHASSIS/BODY
- Acceptable vehicles: All North American OEM 4-link cars 1965 to present with a minimum wheelbase of 106’’. Wheelbase must measure the same on both sides. No convertibles, trucks, jeeps, station wagons or sport utilities.
- Must have full firewall and floorboards in driver’s compartment. May be “boxed in” with right side floor pan no higher than window opening.
- No spoiler or spoiler sides. Rear deck must have no more than 2’’ rake (from back to mid plate). Max deck height is 45’’.
- Roof raking 2” max.
- No sideboards or wings of any kind or size.
- Tail ends must be completely covered (side to side) one half the distance from the highest point of the rear deck to the ground. In other words, measure from ground to highest point of rear deck. (This must be done with car race ready… tires on and inflated, car on level ground, etc.) Divide that in half and back must be completely sealed that far down.
- Body style must be respective to this class and must pass tech inspection approval.
(NO EXCEPTIONS) - Plastic or rubber nose and tail piece permitted. One or two piece.

These are the facts, if that can't convince some that the car is legal then i guess that's their problem.
Best of luck to all at the year end races, and I hope to see some Hummingbird stocks make the trip to mercer next weekend for Little Guys.
