I wasn't going to reply on this but I do not take kindly to being called a cheater. I am the Chassis builder and Crew Chief on the 92x stock car.

I start of by saying, congratulations to the 01 team. They ran a good race and deserved the win. I would have loved to see the 01 and 92x race for the win, but we just ran out of laps. That race was the first time that car has run at hummingbird, so I am thrilled with a 2nd place after starting toward the rear of the field. We do not settle for second though. We just work on the car to make it faster, and don't worry about everyone else stuff.

The problem in the tech shed was that our team felt it was a conflict of interest to have a competing engine and chassis builder to tech the car. If he would have been listed as the official tech man, probably wouldn't have a problem, but Orvie has been the tech guy there the last few years. We asked to have Orvie look at the car, along with Peachy, since he was in the shed at this point. Neither one of them had a problem with our request. Both looked at the car, pumped the engine and said "good run guys, you're good to go."

As far as some saying the car was illegal to hummingbird's rules I'll post them below. I can not find anywhere in the rules that covers what has said to be illegal. The closest is the complaint about the deck. the rules state no greater that 2" deck rake from midplate to rear, so back of engine to the base of spoiler. that is where they measure, it doesn't matter what it does in between. The deck drops down at the seat some to allow the driver to get in and out of the car easier.

These are copied from hummingbirds website. (They are listed as 2012 rules, as the only update since then is the 5" spoiler allowed at the beginning of the 2013 season.)

CHASSIS/BODY

  1.       Acceptable vehicles: All North American OEM 4-link cars 1965 to present with a minimum wheelbase of 106’’. Wheelbase must measure the same on both sides.  No convertibles, trucks, jeeps, station wagons or sport utilities.
  2.        Must have full firewall and floorboards in driver’s compartment.  May be “boxed in” with right side floor pan no higher than window opening.
  3.       No spoiler or spoiler sides.  Rear deck must have no more than 2’’ rake (from back to mid plate).  Max deck height is 45’’.
  4.        Roof raking 2” max.
  5.       No sideboards or wings of any kind or size.
  6.       Tail ends must be completely covered (side to side) one half the distance from the highest point of the rear deck to the ground.  In other words, measure from ground to highest point of rear deck. (This must be done with car race ready… tires on and inflated, car on level ground, etc.) Divide that in half and back must be completely sealed that far down.
  7.       Body style must be respective to this class and must pass tech inspection approval.
    (NO EXCEPTIONS)
  8.       Plastic or rubber nose and tail piece permitted.  One or two piece.

and a link,  https://hummingbirds...StockRules.aspx

These are the facts, if that can't convince some that the car is legal then i guess that's their problem.

Best of luck to all at the year end races, and I hope to see some Hummingbird stocks make the trip to mercer next weekend for Little Guys.

Why is the winning team worried about the second place car cheating anyway? Seems like a stupid thing to argue about. Only on racestud

Come get some ya chicken shit. 2 folks complained about my car. The same 2 guys I kicked out of the tech shed before i let tech look it over. Tech man was good, track promoter was good, not sure what Im supposed to explain. Awesome run to Steve Aurthurs. I wish we coulda had at least a couple laps side by side but thats racin. The couple folks that thought they would muscle my team into letting them take over and give them free op to gain some knowledge..um...no. So glad "wild bill" mentioned Chuck Powell from Bubbas chassis, engines, racing supply. Now I dont have to point out who the guy was in the tech shed claiming to be the TECH guy,and bitchin the loadest with expert "wild bill" in tow.  Such a shitty show. Advertise a special, Let berts, brinns blah blah blah run, throw a 50 lb weight on the bell rule in 5 days b4 the race, then when the outside guys actually show up to run, tech the cars after not techin all year with a so called tech guy that has a car that runs the same class and won the dam race for christ sake. Real good call Hummingbirdspeedway  Outside drivers will just jump at the chance to come race at your facility! Come enjoy the fun and BTW way if your not a regular, special or not, the parts vendor, Chuck Powell and his side kick Bill, will be happy too act as tech men and look all over your car.  They are only trying to help out the tech guy with his duties!  Im pretty sure your local driver was happy with his win and the only people complaining were the couple guys I bitched at being where they didnt belong. I didnt ask to look at that car, so why be the dick to try to LOOK AT MINE? BTW racfuel01, if you need instructions on how to properly pump a engine, Speedway motors has a very good step by step article on cranking speed and how a pump actually works. So many teams have been considered illegal because "some guy" said this is how it works. Ive delt with pumps and assumptions for 20 years now with every tech man within 200 miles of my shop. NEVER yet have I been proven illegal.  My stock car engines have set fast time all over this state and into ohio and New york.   Maybe the folks that design the pump should call you for advise on how to run it! Hell what do they know? I ran a 700 CI small block that night AND PUMPED 404 LEGIT, with your sneaky ears listenin.   Lil guys is one week away, the best stocks in our 3 to 4 state area will be there. You guys man enough or is this thread gonna die right here? I'll save ya a spot in the pits "wild bill". Seriously though I did hear competitive shit talk racing is coming back.  Maybe you should put a resume in for the tech guy for the series.LMFAO.  A very smart man stated along time ago...."If you do the exact same thing, the exact same way every time and yet expect a different outcome then thats the definition of an idiot."

Throttle;  To let u know i do not build motors. All motors i run or some that asks me i send them to r&r rebuilders. I did build the 01 in 2013 for steven. As for tech i told Louie i would help do tech the same as last year. Which i did check the other 3 cars, but not the 01. Told Orvie we would have to tech it because i built the car. As for wildbill i have no control on what he says or posts on here.

Why do you think these cars should be DQ. The 37 car has been teched At mercer, hesston, challenger and hummingbird more times than any other street stock in the past 9 years. No tech man has said that something must be changed, or questioned anything. We have never tried to hide anything, or keep anybody from looking at the car.Hummingbirds Techman has looked at many cars all year long just walking around the pits. The motor has been pumped many times by different people it still comes out to be 5,936 CC. The smallest Street stock motor there &.It has beaten large cube motors. You dont need big cube motors just look at pauls  36 Latemodel its only a 358 and he has run with Ferrell that has the bigest and the best . The season is over good luck to the guys that are running the last few specials.

ok throttle, im not a genius nor an engine builder. I apologize for making "assumptions". I only know as I was told from a veteran engine builder that you are to roll a motor 8-10 rotations consistently for it to be pumped correctly. the only thing I didn't like about that Saturday night was you commenting afterwards "2 more laps and I would have had him". maybe you would have and maybe you wouldn't have. no one knows now for its over and done with. congrats on your 2nd place finish. hope to see you you run more next year instead of just the last race of the year.
