One has to wonder if McKean will be able to pay their purse in October, seeing that they had problems paying the drivers this year already, they cut the purse last year for this race and it looks like they haven't even paid their website bill.

Roaring Knob had the Kahuna last year on that weekend, the Dog Hollow race is new and the Eriez race was moved.    It doesn't seem there is anything going on the first weekend in October. These promoters definitely aren't looking outside of their own little world.   Eriez seems like the best event.   Biggest purses and best ticket prices.

The Lernerville race doesn't attract many more in the top divisions than weekly show and probably less than any of these shows at the end of Sept.  It is one day purse spread over 2 days.  They get around the same amount of cars for the Lates, Mods & Sprints as normal plus a few extras.   They get a lot of cars because they run 8 classes and get 100 enduro cars.

I can tell everyone first hand there is no place like eldora , and I know the retort will be that it's backed by mega dollars .... The bottom line is that it's free to not be a jack off to your customers !!!

While you love Eldora, I hate the place and will never be back....to each their own.

I'll go out on a limb and predict this event will go on as scheduled. It was racing T-shirt guru and 4M owner Gerald Newton's wish to make this the Jim Butler Memorial event it was named this year and if anyone has the resources to get this done, it would be Gerald. Of course, there are several obstacles floating about in the racing blogosphere that could seemingly put the kibosh on the MCR fall classic but ultimately, I believe the tribute side of Gerald and Jim's long business friendship will prevail in the full honor Gerald is willing to dedicate to the cause.

As for Chris, the fair board and the weather, one seems to be about as uncertain as the next. It might be awhile before we see another race at MCR, so I hope they go out in a big way with this special.
