MyLaps doesn't know when a competitor leaves track and it's not recorded.
In the old days someone would note that competitor left the track and the note when they returned to line them up correctly.
When a competitor leaves track with MyLaps and then might not return and there is maybe several restarts for same lap causing more competitors to leave, MY Laps only knows who the lead car was for all the restarts and they get awarded points ahead of cars that took green several times.
So if your leading a race and get in a wreck/cause a yellow and don't return every car that took green for restart and then crashed on same lap is scored behind leader of first yellow till they get to another complete lap.
That is how Paul Davis lost the championship at Sharon by those few points.
Paul waited 35 years to win and even had track crew taking his picture as champ only to have a human eye make a differant call.
