Educational opportunities; nice!  Where did Jimmy go to college?

If anyone goes, and there is a Q & A portion of the program, I think an interesting question would be, "What is a more compelling factor in getting a ride at the 3rd highest level of stock car racing: having a driving record on the shabby side of mediocre, or possessing blank checks?"

Jimmy was attending Youngstown State while I was in school. I don't know, however, if he ever finished.

I was planning to go the price was a little high but what the heck.

It is a real shame that a local driver would get so little support.
Jimmy does have a few $'s supporting him but most in the top 3 divisons do.
Anyone on here that rips on Jimmy don't know him.
He's a good driver that almost lost his life doing what he loved.
Jimmy worked hard to get back to where he is,that was his want to race not dollars.

I'm not bashing anyone ... I'm just saying 34 dollars to hear a random dude talk is a tough NUTT to sell ...

You are right I don't think locals would pay $34 to listen to Richard Petty.

But I still would of went to see Jimmy, the story behind him is a good one.
If he was a local stick and ball guy everyone would be all over the story.

Very true Crusty1!!  If John Enreito had done a story in the BUTLER EAGLE it would have helped create interest with the general public big time!!  John has done some great stories on local Butler County drivers and had BC3 got him to do such I think it would have helped a lot

Well, yeah, but that's because stick and ball sports are far more popular than auto racing.

I know I read this more than once that NASCAR is only second to the NFL in viewed sports. The local media TV and News Paper just don't cover it the way they should.

Crusty baseball plays 162 games plus playoffs there's no way NASCAR beats that especially in 2014

Most popular sports watched in the USA by percentage of fans....

1. NFL - 34%

2. MLB - 14%

3. College Football - 11%

4. Auto Racing - 7%

5. NBA - 6%

6. NHL - 5%

7. College Basketball - 3%

Fact is the major stick and ball sports garner more media coverage/attention because they are more popular than auto racing whether you want to believe it or not.....

If the speaking arrangement was Andrew McCutchen, Ben Roethlisbeger, or Sidney Crosby, they could have charged 100 bucks and it would have sold out. If you want to keep it more local, if it was Neil Walker they could hav charged 50 or 60 and it would have sold out.
