Pennsylvania is broke due to the absurd pensions paid out to public sector workers on the tax payers dime. There is no amount of tax increases that can ever make that system viable.

I see the same stretches of road being "repaired" year after year. Maybe it wouldn't cost us taxpayers so much money if the folks screwing it up would be held accountable instead of us having to pay for repeat repairs over and over. If I screw up at work, I fix it for nothing. Result: I take pride in my work and strive to make no mistakes.

It is my undetstanding if they ever finished working on the roads, they would have no where to store all the orange barrels.

I think of that every trip I take down 22/30 past PPMS..whoever signed off on that job needs to be forced to drive a truck on that road daily as punishment.
but it was probably done with an insider bid by the brother in law of a PennDot manager..

It's going up 10 cents Jan. 1 and like every yr for 5 yrs. Tolling is how they should raise $. Use it you pay. Heck 75% of commercial traffic on 80 is out of state. Drive right through.

The answer to the original question is NO the cost will not drop. This is straight from vp fuels mouth:

"The chemicals divisions of the refiners and global oil companies trade chemicals without regard to the price of crude or retail prices at the pump. Many chemicals used in racing fuels here and around the world are also used in other industries and it is that demand that can keep the prices up or drive them even higher. Chemical suppliers decide on the margins and set the prices. Sellers of pump gas trade it as a commodity."

I make semi-regular trips from Ohio to Delaware and usually run the pike going out.  PA portion of the toll will now be $32.05 one way.  Seriously considering starting to use I-80 both ways in the future.

Why do I like racing ? Well the colors are bright and there is a lot of movement, so it holds my attention.

Its all crap. When gas goes up they raise prices on everything but when it drops on half shocking enough cost stays up on everything. Very frustrating kinda like cost of racing vs purses. Purse been the same forever but cost of every part of racing is nuts. That's why there pushing crate racing and not to many people wanna watch racecars with truck engines

If 604 crates all all racing will become there is no future . Crates can't draw fans . If all local racing becomes crate then dirt racing will become specials only.

This may be ok. Who races weekly for points anymore anyway? Who attends their local track weekly? I would rather draw good fields/crowds once a month than same ol junk 4 times a month. Let people go camping, to baseball games, etc. Maybe if they had to look forward to going to the races it would be good for the sport. If you can't go without, you have the option to travel to a race. Also a good thing.

If crates are the future, then it is a very bleak future for late model racing.

Incorrect. If you are going to complain about the liquid fuels tax, at least know the facts.  read some more then complain.  typical whether it be racing or any other topic.  half informed people stating incorrect as fact.  it will never end.

So you are saying what I read in the local newspaper and watched on the news about another tax of wholesale gas is bad info? IDK, only stating what I seen...hope you are correct.

Well besides the sound of the engines the racing ain't a whole lot better anyway. If I didn't race a crate I'd probably be at a dirt track once or twice a year. Hell the hobby stocks probably provide the best pure racing weekly at most tracks.

Liquid fuels (motor gasoline and gasohol) $0.505/gallon Fuels (undyed diesel and undyed kerosene) $0.642/gallon

It's not an add'l tax as stated.  The increase was due to the Act 89 in the Transportation Bill passed last year.  The fuel tax was determined to be increased in increments versus doing it all at once.  It will not go up in 2016 and will again increase in 2017 as part of the bill.  I know some will argue the facts but i will gladly help in this department.
