Ok lets see if Sharon had 10 cars a week, and Sharon dropped the crates one would assume these cars would have to go elsewhere to race ? Now on Saturday you pretty much have either PPMS or Roaring Knob. So one could assume unless all 10 sold their cars they would go race somewhere else? That better for you?
Marion Center also runs crates Saturdays. And they can get in on that AR money there.

I believe more tracks will go specials only... so what I'm waiting for is someone like all stars or someone to start a "big show" touring series where they don't just bring one class... rather they bring the entire show... sprints, big blocks, lates, emod, and some other wild class for a fun filler... it will turn into much like a truck pulling or motocross series... where the tracks are there, and a series will come in and put on the complete show.
A touring series with five classes would be the worst idea ever. A back gate bonanza isn't something you go on the road with. Sure, Lernerville's Stampede and Challenger's old Fall Fest races get/got away with packing the back gate for a special. But that is/was once a year.

The Crates put on a great show at Pittsburgh. While I prefer the Supers, they are indeed a dying breed for weekly shows.

8 out of 10 fans CAN NOT EVEN TELL THE DIFFERENCE between a CRATE & SUPER ... There are a lot of times , depending on track condition , the lap times are close . More times than not the top 5 crates would beat most of the super class
If that were true, then more teams would be running a 604 against smaller SLM fields to take advantage of SLM purses.
Legend's sarcasm is spot on. Supers draw crowds, Crates don't. It's that simple.
Tracks picked them up primarily because they believed they would average enough teams to make a back gate profit after their purse was paid. If that was an absolute truth, then every track in the region that hosts weekly shows would have them.
There can be no doubt that weekly racing is in trouble, more so at some tracks than at others. The strong will survive and th weak will get left out. Support whatever classes and tracks you like as much as possible, otherwise all we are going to have is Enduros and Demos.
