Dave Wheeler just posted on J Town  FB group page about talking to someone about running the track on a limited schedule this year.

Hey!!  Mr. Wheeler, it's next year now.

Dave Wheeler's Comments from Facebook

I know you are all tired of hearing this, but I'm still working with a group to have the speedway at least run on a limited basis this year.

I have been working on this since I took the track back under my ownership. It's not an easy task due to getting the track back at such a late date

Not making excuses for Wheeler, he did have this all fall back into his lap at a pretty late date, to when the racing season begins. Good or bad at least some effort is being made to keep the track open.

I think the reason the deal fell apart is that one of the partners in last year's group got busted for allegedly writing a couple of bad checks last fall. I have no idea how that was resolved or even if it has been, but I saw it today while looking through some old newspapers from last fall. If that is still unresolved, it is no surprise that that group is not running the place this year.

WJAC-TV did a report over the weekend on Jennerstown.  The owner/promoter lives in Florida and says he can't run the speedway from there and is open to leasing it.  They interviewed a driver who said he will not tow to Motordrome or Clearfield.  Can't blame guys for not building or upgrading their cars if a track is not going to be open from one year to the next.

I didn't go to many, but the biggest crowd at any race that I went to last year was at Midvale, for the Main Event Super Late Models.  I was lucky to get a seat an hour before race time.

Their modifieds and stocks run 602's with hard, long lasting American Racer tires.  Controlled engine cost and low tire bills, 20 cars weekly in each class.

To their credit, they have done a nice job of keeping the place up, and Adam Mackey handling announcing and PR is one of the best.

I saw  those same modifieds at at Lorain County, Sandusky, and agree they put on a good show. (They don't like it when you call them E mods) Too bad about Jennerstown, hopefully it won't fall into disrepair like it did before.

Speaking of modifieds, I wonder if ARCA trucks and the Supercup series are going to seek other dates like IS MA
Super modifieds did. They are still on the schedule that is up on an active Web site.

Dave Wheeler has finalized a four year lease agreement (with an option to buy) with a promotional group that includes Dennis Neri and Doug Damico of Boswell Lumber,Larry Hemminger of North star equipment, John Morocco of Morocco welding, Richard Pollugruto of Speclin emergency, and Snooky Williams. The group plans on running a limited schedule in 2015 starting around memorial day. Check out the entire statement on the Jennerstown Speedway's Facebook page.

Yes, congrats to all of the 19 racers and 37 fans who are excited to be back!

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.
