So I could go down to rocket and get a new car built I just have to have them put a Camaro stub on it and I can run in this class

Would you care to elaborate on this, or are we supposed to guess?

I guess if you want to buy a Rocket to race for $300 go ahead if they let you.

Who is running a Rocket? It's not Terry Young and he won.
If someone had a Rocket and didn't win........ I don't think so.

There's a few that might stretch the rules but none like that. They all have close to stock rear suspensions no ones running j bars or 4 links why do you think this?

I think people assume that because stocks show a lot of suspension movement and get traction, they must be running birdcages and 4-link setups. The street stock setups of a decade ago can only be found under the back of the pack cars. I'm sure there are exceptions, but most cars would be legal even 10 years ago. Guys are just running completely different spring/shock combos that make them get "up on the bars" and make folks in the stands who have no clue what's under a car, think everyone is hiding a late model in a stock car class. Walk through the pits. You can plainly see under the cars as you walk by. Tell me how many late model rears you find.

Well the local guy building Sportsman/street stk./pro stock is getting in the neighborhood of $16,000.00 for a roller. Crate motor, water to fuel necessities another 8000. Tranny of your choice 2 to 4000.00. Total that up. Can any HOME BUILT CARS compete anymore. I say NO. If they are truly home built my hats off to them. Are there anymore Racers in other divisions building there own stuff. Not any more.Is that local guy building a safer car. I say Yes.
What is the difference ? Beside the obivious, motor and weight. Springs, Shocks, Tires, these guys still have coil springs with weight jack s on all 4 corners.
Be interesting to see if all these e-mods are going to re-body them and show up as sportsman's cars. Remember, those cars new where not cheap either. I think 1 was called a rocket.

well I never said that the guy had birdcages or 3link .But it is a rocket chassis pluged in to a Camaro stub. The guy may never win but what if a top runner shows up with a car like this and whips everyone they can not say he is illegal if this guy can run one .IT is the 31 car

Well you must be new to racing because there are not any bars in that car that resemble a rocket chassis, You are putting down a 16 year old kid who has raced 3 times. If your gonna complain about illegal cars and bad rules there are plenty you can bitch about, but at least know what your talking about.

It wouldnt be at lernerville because of the offset cage, but I agree with you a front stub and how ever you build the rear is legal with leafs I'm not sure what he's complaining about, this car was at my shop all week to have a few things changed so he could race, it's not a rocket, not even close.
